Dedicated to me - Whoopieee... and Black is my favourite colour, as much as blue, though most would disagree saying that black is not a colour itself.
It was so beautifully penned, (which goes without saying, considering who penned it) but then the story not only captured the anguish of Sanskaar and the pathos of the situation but ended on a note of hope. Only Swara is not going to have it so easy this time, despite her self realisation as to where exactly she was wrong (I shall not get into the argument that Sanskaar was wrong, so her wrong doing is justified, it does not, in no way).
I have never ever had an issue with her love for Sanskaar, never questioned her intensity nor judged it on comparison with Sanskaar's intensity. Her fault lay in the fact that her love was never ever backed by trust. Anything goes wrong and she is quick to judge him. And for someone like Sanskaar, who values trust as much as love (a little more, if I may dare say) it shattered him that she chose not to trust him, once again.
For Sanskaar, that is what broke him and to such an extent that he is determined to hurt her and hurt himself in the process. There is a difference between belief and faith, though most use it interchangeably. Belief needs proofs, faith simply believes even when there are no proofs, actually does not need proofs. Swara has belief in Sanskaar, so he always has to prove himself with tangible evidences. Sanskaar has faith in her, he does not need any proof to do so, and he will not allow any questions either regarding his faith. There is a beautiful quote (unknown) " Belief is the truth in a mind, Faith is a fire in the heart" So Swara always fails to have faith in him.
As you rightly noted on yesterday's post, Sanskaar was a wealthy man when it came to money but there had always been a paucity of love and trust (he hoped) in his life till Swara stepped in, so when she left him, he crumbled.
On an aside, your title brings to mind W B Yeats poem (I so love it, it sort of sings)

Sanskaar laid his heart, his life, his trust, his soul and all his dreams at her feet, and this time she trampled all of them when she walked out. Whether she was right or wrong, that fact remains; with her delicate feet, the anklet bells tinkling, she trampled all of it. Her feet will bleed as will her heart, but then, she did trample them all.
I seem to have rambled quite a bit, but I so loved it that somewhere I lost coherence😊
