Shikhar Dhawan opts black suit, Sophie Shine stuns in pale pink lehenga at reception

Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie Shine celebrated their wedding reception in Delhi-NCR on February 21, sharing a glimpse of their elegant attire with fans on social media the next day. The couple, who tied the knot in a private ceremony, opted for looks that balanced sophistication and subtle glamour, drawing attention without overshadowing the intimate celebration.

For the reception, Shikhar left behind the traditional wedding sherwani and chose a black tailored suit. The sharp lines and classic monochrome styling gave him a polished, modern gentleman appeal. Standing beside him, Sophie Shine wore a pale pink gown-style lehenga featuring intricate embellishments and shimmering stones. The flowing skirt reflected light beautifully as she posed with former cricketer Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka Chaudhary, adding a contemporary touch to the traditional ensemble.

Sophie accessorised with statement earrings and kept her hair in soft waves, echoing the effortless elegance she carried during the wedding day. The couple’s reception came after a series of pre-wedding celebrations, including a colourful haldi ceremony and a private wedding attended by close friends, including cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.

Both Shikhar and Sophie’s wedding and reception outfits were designed by Manish Malhotra. For the wedding, Sophie wore an ivory lehenga with delicate floral embroidery in coral, peach, and muted green shades, paired with a high-neck blouse and cascading pearl strands. Shikhar complemented her look with a white-on-white sherwani and matching safa. Their first social media announcement read: "Mr and Mrs Dhawan."

The couple, who announced their engagement in January, shared a heartfelt message with fans: “From shared smiles to shared dreams. Grateful for the love, the blessings and every good wish for our engagement as we choose togetherness forever.” Sophie, who is Irish, and Shikhar have now begun their married life, marking the occasion with understated elegance and memorable celebrations among family and friends.
