Jocasta Complex ...The domineering and intense, but non-incestuous love that an mother has for an intelligent son, and an often absent or weak father
figure.

Ishwari was a single mother who raised her children facing lots of hardship. Perhaps this is the reason for her complexes and insecurities.

That's an interesting contradiction you have there. Either she considers him her husband or he us a child.

Let me try to put your point in a different way.

She was probably used to being the most important in her husbands life and after his death, she found that in Dev. Having depended on that bond for so long she now is scared of not being the most important person in Devs life anymore.

Totally agree with you on that. She is so used to being the only important person in Dev's life that she can't handle anyone taking that importance away from her. She did not have any issues with Natasha as Dev's wife (atleast not as much as Sona) because Dev himself was not invested in Natasha emotionally. He still considered Ishwari the most important during his courtship time with Nats.

But when Sona came into the picture, she saw that he was sharing his priorities with both women. And in certain times he was found to he happier with Sona than Ishwari. This was the main reason it did not sit well with her. If Dev reacted the same way regarding his relationship with Sona as he did with Natasha, his mom would not have any issues.

She has devoted all her life for her son and expects the same devotion from Dev in return. She has even given her daughters' share of her love to Dev and so she can't even think about Dev loving someone other than his mother. Ish clearly maintains a distance between Dev n his sisters n nvr miss a chance to display her affection for Dev. She feels since she has sacrificed so much for Dev's wellbeing, Dev sacrificing this basaati naala type love is no big deal.
