With television networks readying their big programming properties for the festive season, BizAsiaLive.com understands that Sony Entertainment Television is lining-up the biggest movie in the history of Indian cinema, on its channel for Diwali.
BizAsiaLive.com has learned that Yash Raj Films' super hit blockbuster Sultan' will lead Sony TV's festive programming. The wrestling drama starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma, is still running at cinemas and was one of the quickest movies to pass the Rs. 300 crore mark at the domestic box office window.
Sultan' is described as a romantic action drama based on the life of a fictional Haryana based wrestler and mixed martial arts specialist Sultan Ali Khan.
A date is yet to be confirmed but the broadcaster will premiere the film globally in October.
