Sultan had a good third week grossing around 15.75 crore nett which is a 68% drop from last week. The third week collection is highest of the year with only Airlift being the other film to cross 10 crore nett in week three. In the all time list it is the tenth highest third week collection ever which is good considering the extended run in the first week. As for Salman Khan starrers the collections are the third week collections are third highest after Bajrangi Bhaijan (28.76 crore) and Dabangg (17.55 crore). The total business of the film is around 294 crore nett with a distributor share of over 150 crore. The film has set a record for the highest share ever in East Punjab though the nett collections are still a little short of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK. The business of Sultan till date is as follows.
Week One (extended) - 2,29,37,00,000
Week Two - 48,89,00,000
Week 3 - 15,75,00,000 apprx
Grand TOTAL - 2,94,01,00,000 apprx
The film needs another 6 crore nett to hit the 300 crore nett mark and will need around 60 lakhs nett or above on the fourth Friday to stay in the race, if the figure is 50 lakhs nett or less then its probably going to stay under 300 crore nett. Basically a similar drop to last week will see it through but there is a much bigger release this week in the form of Dishoom.
#Sultan - OVERSEAS [key markets] - after Week 3: USA-CANADA: $ 6.026 mn UAE-GCC: $ 8.311 mn UK-IRELAND: $ 2.230 mn PAKISTAN: $ 3.02 mn
@SultanTheMovie Is 6th Highest Grossing Film Ever In Overseas At $23.1mn (155cr) Edging #MyNameIsKhan's $23mn. Worldwide Gross At 566cr
#Sultan - OVERSEAS [key markets] - after Week 3: USA-CANADA: $ 6.026 mn UAE-GCC: $ 8.311 mn UK-IRELAND: $ 2.230 mn PAKISTAN: $ 3.02 mn
#Sultan - OVERSEAS - after Week 3: $ 23.09 million [ 154.10 cr]... FAB!
Sultan is still on track for 300 crore nett as it has grossed around 60 lakhs on the first day of its fourth week which means collections are still there despite the new release Dishoom. If the film had gone below 50 lakh to say 40 or 45 lakhs nett then the 300 crore nett mark would have been out of reach. The fourth Friday keeps it on track though the numbers on Saturday will have to be 75-100% up but it has done this sort of growth on previous weekends with higher collections so you would expect the growth to come this weekend also. The business of Sultan till date is as follows.
Week One (extended) - 2,29,37,00,000
Week Two - 48,89,00,000
Week Three - 15,75,00,000 apprx
Week Four - 60,00,000 (1 Day)
Grand TOTAL - 2,94,61,00,000 apprx
The weekend should go to 2.50 crore nett on a worst case and you can't rule out 3 crore nett if the growth really comes on Saturday and Sunday.

It's been three weeks since Salman Khan's Sultan hit box office and it is still going strong, not just in India but all over the world. The film completed its third week in theatres and despite being leaked online, the film garnered 293.80 crores in India, as tweeted by trade analyst, Taran Adarsh. Sultan is ready to enter the 300 crore club where Salman's Bajrangi Bhaijaan is already present.
Okay, I got requested by fellow member Maroon 5.0 a while back to review Sultan once I have seen the film. The thing is, I actually saw the film 3 weeks ago from today, but I didn't review it yet, I guess it was just my laziness 😆 Anyways, here's a short review:
Very good film. The emotions were strong. One of those movies where the songs grow on you as you watch the film. Bulleya was a nice surprise...I had heard the song briefly maybe once when the soundtrack came out, but I hardly remembered it but it was used in the film effectively and after seeing the film, I've really started to like the song. Jag Ghumeya is another really nice song. Sultan title track has become one of my regular songs to play while working out at the gym!Salman was at his career-best at times in the film, acting-wise. He acted better than he usually does. Special mention to that mirror scene (after Randeep calls him a dead body)...Salman really shined in that mirror scene. "Dead body...gold medalist" the scene was powerful.Anushka was outstanding in the film.By the way, I also happen to be a big fan of wrestling, as I am a huge follower of WWE and have been for the last 13 years! The film does get predictable and the second half could've had less fighting. The movie felt similar to Brothers (2015), a movie which I enjoyed more than others.Overall, Sultan is a strong film. Salman's second very good film in a row on Eid after Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Incredible to see that as his superstardom scales new heights, his film choices are also getting better compared to recent years! I rate Sultan the film 7.5/10!Props to director Ali Abbas Zaffar. I really enjoyed Gunday, an underrated gem of a film with a powerful climax. He now has another very good film to his credit with Sultan. Tough to choose though which film he was better as a director between the two films.Another thing I was thinking: We all know Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar are good friends. I think they both got the idea to produce a film with wrestling/MMA. Karan produced Brothers, and Aditya produced Sultan. Bothers released first and failed at the box office. I feel that Aditya observed what may have went wrong with Brothers, perhaps the fact that there was too much focus on MMA/wrestling/fighting in the second half for the audience and Aditya felt he should change that for Sultan, making it more of a love story. That may also explain why Anushka was signed for the film as late as January, 5 months after Brothers released!
