It was late night. Geet was gently caressing Maan's hair, patting him to sleep. She was taking care of him like a new born baby. He wasn't in his senses. He even failed to recognize her which made Geet sad the most. Despite of everything she had to take care of herself and their symbol of love, growing inside her womb.
She recalled the incident happened in the office few hours back. It made her sick. Finally she got to know the true intentions of her boss, Aditya. She didn't want to go back to work. She wanted to find another job soon as she could not let Maan suffer more.
She was staring at her husband who was sleeping peacefully. Tears formed in her eyes, recalling their past, happy moments. How much she miss those, and craving to get back those moments again. Life has knocked down her in the present but she was strong. Strong enough to face anything for her husband. All she wanted was her old Maan back.
She caressed her belly. She was in the end of her 1st trimester. 'I'm sorry baby. Your daddy don't know about you yet. I wish he knew. I'm sure, if he knew he would be the happiest of all. He would take care of mommy and you. He would supply you with all the comforts. We have to get daddy cured soon.' She sighed.
The next day she went to the office and handed over her resignation to Aditya. She was shocked to see what happened in the very next second.
'Trying to escape from me?' He smirked after tearing the resignation letter.
'Mr. Aditya Singhania! I do not want to work here anymore. Let me go! I have a right to resign if I want.' Geet raised her voice.
'Hahaha see! A simple incident made you come and hand over a resignation. How bad Geet?'
'It is not a simple incident Aditya Singhania.' 'Flirting with girls is your hobby may be, but I'm uncomfortable with it. You didn't behave like a real boss. And I'm not hesitant to take this step. My self respect is greater than anything.'
'You and your self respect! Haha!' He smiled sarcastically.
He stepped towards Geet. He came more closer. Geet was shocked and felt so uncomfortable with his behavior. He came forward until Geet hit the wall. He pinned her to the wall tightly.
He caressed her face forcefully. Geet was trying to release his grip.
'Just don't try to mess with me, Geet!' Geet was feeling more uncomfortable. She was sweating with fear. Aditya's furious face was in front of her.
'Why? What do you want from me?' 'Just leave me alone!' Geet jerked off.
'I will lodge a complaint. I won't spare you Mr. Aditya Singhania!'
'Hahaha really? Sweetheart?' 'Okay go ahead. Lodge a complaint! Hire a lawyer. But who will pay?' 'You don't even have enough money to pay for your sick husband's medicines.'
'Just let me go before I scream! So everyone at office will know your true colours!' Geet threatened him.
'Haha! How nice? Trying to frame me?' 'My cabin is sound proof sweetheart!'
'I don't want this job! Let me go! I shall report you to the higher administration. I can find plenty of jobs for my qualifications!' Geet raised her voice.
Aditya didn't want to lose so soon. He kept blabbering more.
'How funny? Do you think that they will offer a job right after you go there? You can do your dramatic emotional act like all those helpless woman who beg for jobs but do you think that they will offer a job so easily? And don't forget just a week left to end this month. I'm so surprised dear! Don't you want to collect your salary?'
'How will you treat your sick husband who is at home like a dummy?' Aditya made an evil laugh.
'Just shut your filthy mouth! Just shut it up for gods sake! Don't insult my husband.'
'I was trying to make you understand about the reality Mrs. Geet Khurana!' 'Even if you apply for a new job you won't get money so soon! You will have to wait for another month. Will you risk your husband's life huh? That poor fellow will die soon!'
Geet couldn't wait any longer. She wanted to kill Aditya at once. It was too much for her to bear up. She pulled him aside and ran out, tears started flowing off her eyes. She was so helpless. What Aditya told was true. She had to wait till the end of the month to collect her salary. She couldn't ask money from her friends anymore. Both her and Maan's friends been helping them out financially a lot and she didn't want to bother them any further. All what is left is her job to save her husband.
She didn't even want to see that pervert's face anymore but sadly she had to carry on her job at least till the end of the month. Till then she started searching for new jobs and sent a few applications as well. Aditya didn't misbehaving with her. The office staff was supporting Geet but they couldn't do anything. Their jobs were under him. They were afraid of getting fired.
It was the day before the last day of the month. Geet was about to get her salary the next day. It was kind a relief for her. No matter how much she was treated badly at the office she had to bear everything for her Maan.
Aditya forcefully dragged Geet out of the office and made her get into his car.
'What are you doing Mr. Aditya? Just let me go!' Geet was trying to get down but He had already locked the car.
'Shh! just shut up!' 'I repeat! Don't try to mess with me Geet.' 'I know your husband's life depends on your job. So think of not losing both the job and your husband.
'We have to go and meet one of our clients. An outdoor meeting!'
'Stop lying! Where are you taking me? What meeting? You didn't inform me before. Why is this like never before?' 'Just let me go!'
Aditya was speeding up. 'You can open your door if you want! Do you want to die so soon?'
'I know what you want from me you b*stard. I have clearly figured out your intentions! Being dead is far more better than losing my self respect.
'Then your husband will also die soon! That sick bugger. You are so selfish Geet! don't you think about him? Aditya spoke sarcastically.
'Enough of this! Just slow down!' Geet screamed her lungs out. Aditya was speeding up more and more and Geet was scared that the car would collide and they'll die any soon.
Aditya drove to an isolated area. He stopped the car. The place looked abandoned. A railway track was running through. He dragged Geet outside. He forcefully took her to a near by abandoned shed which looked like an abandoned ware-house.
'Just let me go! Please!' Geet cried.
'You cannot stop me Geet!' 'I love you and you will be mine in another few minutes!'
Geet was screaming for help. But for her bad, nobody was around to help her. Not even a single person could hear her voice. She was trying to release herself from the evil grip of Aditya.
She knew what he wanted. She didn't want to sell her soul for him at any cost. She wanted to escape as soon as possible.
'Please leave me alone for god's sake! 'I'm pregnant!' 'Please let me go!'
'Oh wow! Really? Then your sick husband has left you with a burden then!'
'My child is not a burden for me! Just leave me alone. What do you want huh? Why are you hurting me? What did I do?'
'Revenge is sweet honey! May be you didn't realize your one slap can result many things!' Now get ready to pay off'.
At the very next moment he held her tightly almost squeezing her tummy. It was so painful for her and she was concerned about her baby. She didn't know how it happened. But she felt a new energy forming inside her. She pushed him hardly and Aditya fell on the ground losing his balance.
Geet released herself from the evil hands of Aditya and she ran as fast as she can. She knew that if she run on the road Aditya will soon catch her using his car. She ran towards the railway track and started running off. Aditya was following her.
She was feeling tired and her legs were almost trembling. She couldn't slow down as that devil was chasing her. At the very next moment she heard a loud noise. She looked back. A train was coming nearer. She rushed more. Aditya was behind her. The train was coming nearer so was Aditya. She couldn't realized what to do. She saw a grass meadow aside and in the very next second she jumped out of the railway track.
Few hours later
Geet tried to open her eyes. It was difficult. She felt as if she's carrying a thousand pounds on her eye lids. She was feeling dizzy. She heard noises in the background. She couldn't identify where she was. Her vision was blurred.
After much effort, she could open her eyes. She saw someone standing beside her.
'Mrs.Khurana? Are you alright?' She heard an anonymous voice.
She looked around. She could figure out that she was in a hospital. But how? How come she ended up in a hospital? What happened to Aditya who was chasing her? A lot of questions were popping up in her mind.
'Uh.. I.. I'm okay.'
'Geet..!!' She heard a familiar voice. Her mom Neeta rushed inside the room. She hugged her daughter tightly.
'Maa..!' Geet cried hugging her mom. Then her father Rohit also came inside.
'Papa.' She was staring at her father with teary eyes.
'How.. how come I'm here, doctor?' Geet was curious to know.
'You were rescued by a tragic train accident I suppose. There was another person too, who was knocked down by the train.'
'What?' 'Aditya sir'? Geet recalled how she jumped off the railway track. She couldn't remember a thing after that.
Then she was informed how she was rushed to the hospital by the train authorities and police had been investigating the incident and they had found Aditya's car & Geet's handbag was on the ground near by and her family was informed after that. Aditya was knocked down by the train and has died on the spot.
'Doctor my baby uh..?' Geet caressed her belly. She was afraid if something has happened to her baby after all these incidents.
'Both you and your baby are lucky Mrs. Khurana. Both are safe. It was truly a miracle. No need to worry.'
'Maa.. maa I want to go home! Where's Maan? I want to see him!' Geet was restless.
'Geet. Don't worry Maan is at home with Savitri.' Mihir, Rishabh's father came inside.
'Papa?'
'How are you Geet?' 'God saved you from a dangerous disaster.'
'Mrs. Khurana. The police is here. You have to give a statement on what happened in the morning.' 'The train driver has seen you and that person. He assumes that person was chasing you.' 'You can speak to the police officer who is waiting outside, if you are fit enough to speak out. I don't want you to strain yourself.'
After an hour Geet explained what happened that morning. She further revealed how Aditya used to mistreat her.
She was discharged from the hospital the next day. Thankfully she wasn't injured much except for some small wounds on her legs. She ran to her husband as soon as she went home. He was just lying there, unaware of the incidents happening around. Then Geet was taken to her parent's house for a couple of days till she gets better. Maan's parents urged her to stay with her parents till she recovers. Geer did not want to stay away from Maan but she knew that she needs to get well soon to take care of him.
The father-daughter duo united after a long wait. It was an emotional moment for both of them. Rohit apologized Geet for not being able to understand her immense love for Maan. He was proud of his daughter, how she's been tackling everything and facing all the obstacles bravely. Rohit promised Geet that he will do his best to cure his son-in-law.
Then Maan was taken to another specialist. He suggested to do an operation that would probably save Maan's life and cure him soon. But it cannot be done in India and he had to go to United Kingdom.
Geet finally had a ray of hope about Maan's life. But another problem struck her as how they'll bear those expenses. She wanted to find a job as soon as possible. Her parents gave money from what they had but it was not enough to cover the estimated expenses.
Geet was back in Maan's place. She was caressing his hair. He was staring at her helplessly. He touched her pregnant belly which is visible now.
'Maan..' She spoke with tears.
'Maan.. do you feel it hmm?' 'Maan, I'm carrying our baby.' Geet was looking at him with anticipation. She prayed to gain his memory back. He did not react. Soon he fell asleep.
'Geet..' Savitri came inside.
'Maa?'
'Someone has come to meet you.'
'Who is it?'
'I don't know. She introduced herself as Kaavya Singhania. She said she wanted to talk to you.'
Geet was confused. She walked towards the living room.
A lady, who was probably in her mid thirties was sitting there.
'Good evening. You must be Mrs. Geet Khurana?'
'Uh yeah.'
'Hi, I'm Kaavya Singhania. I'm your boss Aditya Singhania's wife.'
Geet was shocked to hear that. She was unaware that Aditya was married.
'Huh? I never knew he was married.'
'I know! He's been hiding his marital status from everyone.' 'But I am her legal wife. We've been married for 10 years now. But he mercilessly dumped me 6 years back. I was all alone with our 2 year old son that time.'
Geet was shocked to hear about Aditya's family and past.
'I got to know from the office staff that he's been harassing you. Trust me harassing woman is like his hobby. If a person does not agree with him it doesn't take much time for him to destroy that person.'
Kaavya revealed her heart wrenching story to Geet. Kaavya was from a rich family and Aditya married her for her fortune. He never truly loved her but rather 'used' her to satisfy his desires. They've been blessed with a baby boy after an year of their marriage but unfortunately Aditya hated their baby.
Aditya didn't want kids and he wanted Kaavya to abort their baby. But she refused it. He attempted to abort the baby numerous times, but all went in vain and miraculously Kaavya and her baby was saved.
The baby wasn't healthy due to the numerous attempts of abortion. The chemical effects have harmed him. He's been diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was just a 6 months old infant. Aditya had to take care of Kaavya and the baby as he didn't have any choice. He had to wait till he gets on hold of Kaavya's family business. He always faked his love and care for Kaavya and their son in front of his in-laws.
Soon after he got Kaavya's family business, he didn't even care to even look at his wife and son. He was soon exposed to a bad friendship and he enjoyed his life away from home, wasting time in night clubs and sleeping with unknown women. He was an drug addict too.
Time passed, Kaavya was helpless. She sought help from her family but nobody was there to even listen to her. She tried every possible way, sold out everything she had to save her son's life. But all went in vain and her son passed away in such a tender age of 3 years.
Geet was listening to Kaavya with teary eyes. She could understand the pain she has gone through.
'Mrs. Khurana. I would like to help you to cure your husband. I understand what you are going through. I was at your position 5 years back. I tried my best but I couldn't save my son. I could have of course, if I had money. If Aditya didn't neglect him he would have been alive. But I don't want to see it happen to another person. And I'm not even a bit sad of my husband's demise. All I can say is that the karma has payed him back for all his misdeeds.'
Kaavya's words made Geet relieved. She promised to support Geet financially to cure Maan. Geet was proud of Kaavya after listening to her story, how his son's death changed her life. How she started from the scratch and what she is today. Geet was pleased by her generosity.
With her help, arrangements were made soon to take Maan to United Kingdom. Geet wanted to go with him but she was advised to stay due to her pregnancy. Geet was on her 5th month. Mihir and Rohit left to UK along with Maan.
The operation was successful according to the doctors. Geet's happiness knew no bounds. She was waiting impatiently to meet her husband.
Finally the day dawned she's been waiting for. She felt like as if she is waiting her whole life time but actually it's been only 2 months. She rushed when she heard the vehicle coming. She knew it was them.
Geet ran and welcomed Maan with a tight hug. He looked confused but he managed to smile after a few minutes.
'Maan..? Maan you are doing alright na?' 'Can you recognize me?' 'I'm your Geet.'
Rishabh was staring at her but he did not reply. Geet was feeling sad.
'Geet. Don't worry. He will identify you soon. The doctors said it will take sometime. He is now physically stable. He can walk, eat, drink all alone but it might take a little time to regain his memory. Don't lose hope. It's just we have to wait.' Geet's father Rohit pacified her.
'Till when Papa?' Geet broke down.
Pre cap - Geet was trying to reach the top shelf. The chair was wobbly. She lost her balance in the very next second and was about to fall. 'Geettt!' She heard Maan screaming.
