Hi Friends,

Today I am really excited to introduce the all new Forum Search application on India Forums and it was certainly one of the interesting & challenging stuff we did lately given the following conditions:

Searching a particular key phrase from the Database of over 20GB of text in matter of few seconds. (We now have FULLTEXT servers to take care of it.)
India Forums recieves over 1.8 Millions pageviews a day so you can estimate the traffic and load on the servers and on an average we have over 2500 users online. (We have over 7 dedicated servers running the whole site) 😊
  • And we are estimating that there will be searches over 20000 in a day. So the solution has to be faster and robust.

UPDATE 10 November 2007

  • We have further optimized the code so that the searches are much faster.
  • Now we have the option of "Topic Starter"

We are still testing the performance and the server load and we are happy that so far it is looking really good.

A whole lot of new things are in the making so keep visiting us regularly. And yeah dont forget to keep sending your valuable suggestions and feedback on our Suggestions and Feedback section.

Cheers,
Vijay

Hi,

Can you post the complete error message and also if possible PM me the screenshot as that will help me debug the problem.
