Part 9:-

"Yahin khadi rahoon ke andar aa sakti hoon?" Chhavi asked.

"Of course you can come inside." She let her in and closed the door behind.

"I am sorry if I disturbed you." She said with a sad face.

"It's really fine Chhavi. I know tu yahan apni family se itni door rehti hai you feel alone, so you can come to me any time." She said smiling. As soon as Vinny mentioned about her family, tears welled up in her eyes and she couldn't hide her tears. Soon she burst into sobs and started crying. It shocked Vinny. "Chhavi kya hua tujhe? Tu theek to hai na?" she said hugging her and letting her shed her tears. She was continuously crying for some time and Vinny comforted her. "Tujhe hua kya hai Chhavi bata na mujhe."

It took her a while to cover up and she said finally, "My mistake, I should not have gone to his party today."

"Kaisi party?"

Chhavi looked at Vinny knowing very well what would be her reaction now. "Viraf ki post birthday bash mein."

"What? Tu wahan gayi thi?" She was shocked to know that.

"Yes." She replied.

"Why? Knowing very well which kind of boy he is."

Chhavi looked down, "I don't know which sort of boy he is."

"Tujhe nahi pata hai. Zaroor us ne hi tujhe bulaya hoga. Us ka mann bhar gaya Saba se?" Chhavi stared at her. "Obviously bhar hi gaya hoga na tabhi us ne tujhe bualaya tha na apne yahan."

"I don't know."

"Tell me was she there?" Chhavi nodded her head. "See what I wanted to say. She was there and still you went to the party knowing so well that she would be there."

"He didn't invite her."

Vinny got irritated and gave her what the hell look. "Tujhe yeh us ne kaha?" she asked.

"No, his friend Freddy."

"Wow..if he is his friend why will he tell you the truth? It's obvious he will say that. Tune aise believe kaise kar liya?" She thought for a while. " Did she say anything to you?"

Chhavi looked away, "As usual, you know the sort of bond we share."

"Did you answer her back?" Chhavi again nodded her head. "Good. Then tell what is bothering you so much?" Chhavi kept silent. "Bata na. Tu aise to nahi royi. Koi baat to thi na?"

"Pata nahi."

Vinny looked at her and taking her palms in her hands said, " Chhavi... you know what I think? I think you are unable to see him with Saba." With a pause she added, "Do you love him?"

She had no answer of this question of hers. She kept silent and thought what she thought exactly about Viraf. It was the best to change the topic right now. "Vinny I think I am damn tired now and I should take rest now."

"You are avoiding my question?" she asked.

"I am not avoiding any questions but you know the event has drained out my energy and I just don't want to talk about it."

"If you are trying to run away from my question then it's of no use. Please I have already told you many times to stay away from him." Chhavi looked at her surprised. It was not that she had said it for the first time but she was still not convinced about her opinion. She still thought something is amiss and she should give herself sometime. "Tell me Chhavi, are you getting what am I saying?"

"Fine, I will try to do that." Chhavi said. Vinny was still not convinced. She looked at her and seeing her condition she thought of talking about it later. "Ok, I think it's very late now. You go and take rest." Chhavi went in to Vinny's room and she gave her a night dress to change into.

Next morning:-

Chhavi got up a bit later than usual and when she got up she found a note beside her bed. It was from Vinny who mentioned that she was going for her shoot and the breakfast was ready. Chhavi got up and left for her house. She parked her car in her building's parking when the security guard came to her and said, "Good morning ma'am."

"Good morning, koi kaam hai?"

"Madam ji kal aap ko dhoondhne yahan Viraf sir aaye the." Chhavi was confused to know about it.

"Viraf yahan?"

"Jee haan madamji. Saab aap ke bare me pooch rahe the to apun ne un ko bata diya ki aap raat ko nahi aayi thi wapas to unhone kaha ki jab wapas aayengi toh unko inform kar dena. Woh aap se milna chahte hain."

Chhavi's expressions changed from confusion to a bit of anger. "Koi zaroorat nahi hai un ko kuch batane ki."

The security guard got confused a bit, "Kya matlab hai ma'am?"

Chhavi controlled her emotions and said, "Aap kyun pareshan hote hain main un ko khud hi call kar ke bata doongi main wapas aa gayi hoon."

"Ok madam, good afternoon." And he left.

'Kya kar raha tha yeh yahan? Sab kuch fir se ek baar kharab karne ke baad bhi abhi kuch bacha hai us ke liye kehne ko.' She walked to her flat and switched on her mobile. It's battery was low and so it had switched off. As she placed it in charging, she saw numerous messages of Viraf which were about him being sorry. She read a few.

"Chhavi kahan ho tum?"

"Tum achanak se party se kahan chali gayi?"

"Chhavi kahan ho please pick up my phone?"

"Please don't punish me for the thing I didn't do."

"Maine kuch nahi kiya hai Chhavi. At least talk to me once."

Chhavi was still angry at him but she thought to maintain her composure. 'I just don't want to talk about it now Viraf.'

A few days later:--

"Happy birthday to you...happy birthday to you...happy birthday to you Chhavi di. Happy birthday to you." It was Chhavi's younger sister who was wishing her on her birthday. Her whole family wished her on her birthday and she was happy.

"To kya chahiye gift meri beti ko?"

"Kuch nahi papa. Bus I wish aaj aap sab yahan hote."

"Jo hukum mere aaka."

"What?"

"Open the door Di." Chhavi was confused but she went straight to the door and opened the door. She got a pleasant surprise from her family. All rushed inside and her both sisters gave her a warm hug wishing her happy birthday.

"Aap sab yahan?"

"Last two years se toh tu busy thi shoot mein toh hum ne socha iss baar kyun na tujhe tere birthday pe direct yahan pahuch ke wish kar de."

"Thank you maa, thank u papa." She said touching their feet.

"Dekh lijiye papa maine kaha tha na ki Chhavi Di apne sanskaar nahi bhoolegi kuch bhi ho."

"I am proud of you beta." All of them got busy and Chhavi didn't pay any attention to her mobile which had a low volume and it rang several times showing caller's name Viraf. She picked her phone back at around 2 am and saw so many calls from a few people but one caller took her all attention which was Viraf. She found twenty seven missed calls from him. 'Itne saare calls?' she was surprised to find no calls or messages from Vinny and company. 'Jis ko main apni friend kehti hoon shayad un ko mera birthday tak yaad nahi hai aur jis se mere differences hain us ko mera birthday acche se yaad hai." She said making a sad face. She checked the SMS and found a few messages from Viraf.

"I know you are still angry with me but still I know I am in your heart for some special reason. Wish you a very Happy Birthday Chhavi. I don't know when will we meet next or talk but I know ki kabhi na kabhi hum fir se ek honge." Unknowingly she smiled reading this message but soon she restrained herself from smiling. 'Yeh kya kar rahi hoon main? Us ne jo kiya us ke baad bhi...'

A few days later:-

"Kya kar raha hai tu?"

"Kuch nahi Chhavi ko good night message kar raha hoon."

Freddy gave a 'you are impossible' sort of reaction. "Tu nahi sudhrega na?"

Viraf smiled and looked at Freddy, "Ab maine aisa kya kar diya?"

"You know Viraf, you are behaving like a despo lover."

"What?"

"Yeah exactly. Accha tell me kya tu us ko pehle bhi aise hi good morning and good night message karta tha?"

Viraf gave it a thought and after thinking for a few minutes he replied, "Nahi...par when we used to work together I used to whatsapp her good night and good morning daily."

"That was when you both worked together. Then it's a sort of normal thing. I think she must have replied with the same hi hello good morning and good nights." Viraf nodded. "Then what happened to you all of a sudden? Why are you again getting stuck to her?"

"I am not stuck to her." Viraf was shocked to hear it.

"You are trying to do that."

"How can you say that?"

"If you think with my pov you know you should stop SMSing her."

"Is se to woh mujh se aur door ho jayegi." He said making a sad face.

"You think so?"

"I do."

"Look Viraf all I know is that if your love is true and she has any sort of feelings for you, she will come back to you."

"All this happens in movies and shows. In real life some nice girls get bad boys like..." He stopped afterwards.

"Pracheen kind of boy na?" Freddy added.

"Yup, look he has already proposed to her and what if she goes to him."

"I don't think so. She is really smart and intelligent and she should not do that."

"Sure?"

Freddy smiled. "Viraf see don't get confused about yourself. You love her?" he asked him.

"Yeh bhi koi poochne waali baat hai." He replied smiling.

"Toh just have patience and believe in yourself."

"I do but..."

"No buts now...jo bhi hoga woh accha hoga. I am sure she will come to you soon." He smiled.

A few months later (October 2015):-

"Aaj kahin bahar chalein?" It was Pracheen who asked Chhavi about the outing.

"Not today. I am tired."

"Ab jab mauka mile ghoomne chala kar warna jab tera show on air ho jayega tujhe time hi nahi milega outing ka." Vinny said.

"Vinny..."

"Kya Vinny? You know my show is going to get off air sometime in November, us ke baad main bhi free rahoongi."

"Wow..then finally I am sure you and Dheeraj have to decide when both of you are getting married."

"Very soon." She said winking.

"Toh kahan chalein?" Pracheen asked.

"Kahin bhi." Chhavi said lazily.

"You go and change fast then we will decide where we have to go."

"Ok." Chhavi left.

Vinny turned to Pracheen. "You talked about your feelings to her?"

"No not now. Actually when she forgave me, she kept a condition for that ke I will not involve any kind of emotions and feelings for her in it."

"What?"

"Yes." Pracheen said unhappily.

"Koi nahi mere sher keep on trying. I am sure one day she will be yours."

"I don't think so. As far as I think, she has no feelings for me."

"Not like that yaar. I think both of you must try to spend more and more time together so that you can win her." She stopped as her phone rang all of a sudden. She picked up her phone and after talking for a few minutes, she said to Chhavi, "Chhavi wear something party type. We are going to a party today."

"Party, kaisi party?" she asked confused.

"Meri ek friend ke yahan party hai toh wahin jana hai hume."

"Toh main wahan kya karoongi? I don't know her."

"Chal na jaan jayegi."

Viraf had just returned after getting to host a DD National's government programme Hunnarbaaz and was about to post this piece of news on Instagram when a particular picture took his attention and his smile and happy mood went off. Later in the evening, Viraf met Freddy.

"Congrats dude."

"Kis liye?"

"Oye you know main tujhe kyun congrats kar raha hoon." But soon he caught that something was amiss. "Kya baat hai tu khush nahi lag raha hai?"

Viraf took out his phone and opening his Instagram account showed a picture of Chhavi with Pracheen. Freddy took the phone from his hands and checked it closely. Chhavi was smiling in the picture and Pracheen was looking happy as well. "Is baat ki bhi congratulations de de mujhe."

Freddy laughed, "Tu bhi na bilkul prem deewana hota ja raha hai."

Viraf gave him an angry look, "Tujhe abhi bhi lagta hai ki woh mere pass aa sakti hai."

"Mujhe lagta nahi hai, balki yakeen hai ki aisa hoga bahut jald. Kisi ke saath pics click karane ka yeh matlab nahi hai ki un dono ke beech mein kuch hai."

"But hum jab pics post karte the tab..."

"Pakka tujhe tabhi Chhavi se pyaar ho gaya tha?"

"Tab toh nahi par shayad shuru ho raha tha." He paused. "Toh kya un dono mein bhi kuch..." Freddy cut him in between.

"Nahi, pata nahi mera mann kehta hai yeh jo aadmi hai na is ne Chhavi ko request kiya hoga pic lene ke liye."

"But itna sab kuch hone ke baad, I mean jo bhi Pracheen ne kiya us ke saath us ke baad bhi woh us insaan ko apni life me wapas kaise accept kar sakti hai?" He was frustrated.

"Tu ek baat bhool raha hai ki un ka friend circle common hai toh yeh possible hai ki unhone un ka patch up karaya hoga."

"Whatever." He said.

"By the way, tell me one thing us din party me Ms. Saba Mumtaz kahan se aayi thi u know?"

Viraf was all of a sudden confused why he asked this question. "Saba? Haan maine to socha hi nahi...I don't know. You know I didn't invite her that's all."

"That's not all my dear friend. She was here because Sodhiji told her that he is going to attend your post birthday bash."

"And how did you know that?"

"Sodhiji told me that he informed Saba that he can't meet her that day and when he told her the reason she said fine. She reached there and had some solid heated arguments with Chhavi."

"What?" Viraf was shocked.
