People fail to realize that Mumbai Police royally f**ked this case from the onset. It's shows incompetence of the highest order.

First, they screw up the blood samples. Then, the statements of witnesses are all over the place - barely accountable. Worse, they don't offer protection to the prime witness. Rabindra Patil should have been protected by the police and his health should have been taken care by the Gov't. It's their job when he's a witness in a major legal case.

Kamaal Khan is a Brit, so the Mumbai Police won't have access to him when he's out of India. That's the law. Can't blame them there, but at the end, that proved to be the clincher in this case. The police decided to ignore him instead of tracking his movement in and out of India

Many seem to be having a field day insulting Salman. Yet, he's the only one who seems to have shown any semblance of rationality in this case, which served him well in the end.

Each crime is lesser evil compare to other so agree we should happy on the basis of our attachment when some drunk driver knocked down pavement deweller or walker. How sad that crap victim damage the car or say all those loss of 25 cr to buy law :)

The problem is the police. If they'd let Salman and the victims come to a out-of-court settlement in 2002 or 2003 itself, their lives would have been greatly enhanced and this saga wouldn't have had to go on.

Nobody gained anything out of this case. Instead, we saw a mockery of the Mumbai Police and Sessions Court at Mumbai High Court. The initial for mishandling the case and the latter for declaring a hasty, misinformed verdict.

Buying law is not justice done simple. Spend money like 25 cr nd connection on behalf of victim than see how whole game of chess turnaround
