Following threats to Ranveer Singh, a close associate of Salman Khan received a threatening email demanding a large sum of money, with the sender claiming association with the incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang. The email was sent to an actor in the film industry who is close to Salman Khan.
Crime branch investigates email threats
As reported by IANS, the Mumbai Crime Branch is actively investigating the threatening email, focusing on tracking the mobile locations of potential suspects near the residences of several celebrities. Police sources in Mumbai have confirmed that heightened vigilance is in place and the investigation is ongoing. Despite these efforts, neither the actor nor the concerned individual has yet filed a formal police complaint regarding the matter.
The feud between Salman Khan and the Bishnoi gang began in 1998, stemming from an incident during the filming of "Hum Saath Saath Hain." The actor was accused of hunting a blackbuck, an animal sacred to the Bishnoi community. Imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has publicly stated his intent to either force Salman to apologize or to take his life.
Police suspect Lawrence bishnoi
On Tuesday, February 10, Ranveer received a threatening WhatsApp voice note demanding a ransom, according to police. In response, Mumbai Police have increased security at the 40-year-old actor's home and are tracking the sender.
Police suspect the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is behind the threat, which appears to be an extortion attempt. Ranveer's recent film, "Dhurandhar," was a major success. The Mumbai Crime Branch has initiated a formal investigation into the incident.
This follows the recent incident where gunshots were fired at Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence in Juhu, Mumbai. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack on social media on February 1.
