Hi!🤗
Well I think you know me, but if you do not, I am Sakura.😊 I write for SwaSan; my current obsession. Here is my new SS.
Before you jump in let's get some background facts established.🤓
*This story doesn't follow the original plot.
*Though the center couple is SwaSan, others are equally important and smart.
*Characters are almost same, (unless I introduce someone new) and they behave almost the same way.
*Maheshwaris are a different family here and are much more orthodox than their original selves.🤔
*Maheshwari Mansion also, is a different, much more ancient house in my imagination at the moment.
*Maybe it might seem so at some point, but this is not a ghost story or a Halloween treat.🤢
I think that was enough warnings...roll down for the introduction. I hope you enjoy😊
The sun vanished from the horizon couple of moments ago. The night murky and deepest of blues swept in with the chilly winter breeze. Shadows giant and crawling, haunted the ground, dusty from the warm day. Sky, covered in the grayish layer of cobwebbed clouds, gave no starlight to sharpen the view. Only a thin string of a faint moon managed to shine, in the mauve canvas of twilight.
The lamps of the temple lit in haste, fought the wind and darkness bravely with their tiny lights. It was empty at the moment; the hints of rain in the evening wind had urged the devotees towards their homes. The temple was the only source of light in their vision, but it was no longer a safe place.
More shadows emerged from the night, but they did not belong to the night as the former innocent ones did. They were moving and furious, trotting towards a common goal purposefully. They were armed and intended to shed blood. The pious ground would soon witness a sin of hideous kind.
They watched, wide eyed and heavily breathing. Still confused as to how it came in to reality and how they were trapped in this nightmare. She took a step forward, her heart urging her to join him. Her hand was held and she was stopped.
Let me go!' She ordered blindly. They'll kill him!'
I can't let you do that!' Another voice replied.
But they are after me, not him. There's no point of staying alive if he dies!'
Shona listen to me. They don't know who you are; you have a chance to escape if you don't meet him right now. Please, listen to me this once!'
They'll kill him!' She insisted.
Nothing mattered to her at the moment, just the fact that he was in danger. He was her first love, best friend and everything. She was not going to leave him and save her own skin, no matter who advises her to!
I'll save him!'
Huh?'
I will save him, but only if you promise to run and never look back.'
No!' She uttered in shock. I can't let them hurt you either!'
Somewhere in distance a train hooted, lowering speed on its wake. It was time, they were running late.
Shona, leave!'
No!'
Fine, then stay here. Stay put. You're under my oath; don't move even an inch, stay here.'
Confining her to the shadows, went the savior only to lay down their life in place of what the fate wanted. Only a mess was created in return. Till that day, she had seen and experienced the warmth and brightness of love. There she saw the pain and the blinding aura of its aftermath. It scared her, as it would do to any youthful soul, who has never witnessed the dark side of the moon they adore so much.
It made her gasp in horror, cry silently in pain and fear and shudder at the images now forever etched in her consciousness. The illusion of happy, bright world she had, shattered leaving cracks on her very soul.
They dragged him away, in a bloody and semi conscious mess, leaving the other dead cold on the ground. The third that brought the wreath of those demons upon them on the first place and had stood in the shadows and watched, ran, ran the fastest she would manage, away from that hideous nightmare. The train was waiting, to take her towards shelter.
She climbed in, but could not move even an inch more. Her hands were clean, but she could see blood in them. Leaning against the metal beast, as it slowly started to move again, she sank to her knees and curled herself in to a ball at the floor. The rumbling roar of the train was numbing her mind further. She wrapped her arms around herself and shut her eyes tightly, squeezing the hot tears out of them.
Phoenix,' she muttered. Mama's right. I'm a bad, bad, bad girl.'
