Hi!😃
Finally the phoenix will be flying in the open air😳, spot him and enjoy the revelation!😃
For five years she was not herself, for five years she was searching for that part of herself she had lost, for five years she was looking for answers, for five years she lived in darkness. For five years she had not touched a violin.
It was there, in the shelf where he kept it, after playing on the new moon night according to Ragini. As usual, he was not there; in the hall with the concealed entrance. But she knew he was somewhere watching her, as she stepped in to the darkened place.
Slowly she touched the arm of the violin, moved her fingers against the polished sound box, and touched the strings, before picking it up and resting it on her shoulder. It seemed a fond friend turned unfamiliar as she ran the bow against the strings. The melody she chose was different from his, vibrant and happy, yet deep with longing. It was like recalling some lost moment of happiness, the colors of smiles were still there yet the sense of loss ran deep within. Closing her eyes she played on, until her strained ears picked up footsteps.
She did not turn around, but stopped playing and stood holding the violin in a frozen moment.
Why did you stop?' The deep amused voice questioned.
Because I need to listen to the silence,' she said slowly. Your silence.'
In her psyche it was not a silence at all. The words Ragini spoke, her own memories and conclusions filled it to the brim. For Sanskar it was a fearful silence, he was not sure who he was countering. Either it was a Swara who was triggered by Annapurna's plotting or it was a Swara who had come to know of everything. On both stands, he had no escape, no explanation and no answer to her queries.
She's a vile woman,' Swara said after a long traumatizing pause. She tried to make me believe you want to harm me that it is you who is trying to prove I was losing my mind, because of what my mother did.'
He said nothing in reply as she talked on.
When you said they were behind your parents dismiss, my mother helped them in to proving you traumatized, made your statement invalid. She was desperate for freedom, she wanted to leave her abusive husband and move far away, so desperate that she grabbed the first opportunity she got no matter how evil a deed it was. But you knew this, you understood.'
And I had never forgotten. I was simply acting,' he added. Why should I punish her for a crime she didn't manage to commit?'
True, that's why you kept having those panic attacks. That's why you needed help. That's why you never broke your contact with Mama.'
She turned to look at him, placing the violin back on its shelf.
Annapurna Maheshwari plans well, but she didn't know the base fact of her web this time. I would never believe my phoenix wants me dead!'
Sanskar inhaled deeply, closing his eyes for a moment.
You made the connection?' He asked then.
Yes,' she agreed timidly. I picked up your tunes from Mama's desk, that's how I found that e mail ID of yours, that's how we started communicating. Mrs. Maheshwari knew all about us, yet she didn't know that. When Ragini told me about you, about how you're connected to Mama, it wasn't that hard to realize you are phoenix, that was the risk she had not predicted.'
She reached him with an arm stretched to touch his face.
Believing you gone was the worst feeling of my life.'
He turned away, before she would have managed to touch him and said. Trust me I know.'
Yes, I deceived you in a worst way didn't I? By pretending to be Kavita?'
When she died in my arms, I gave up fighting to survival,' recalled Sanskar with his eyes closed. Instead I started fighting for revenge I wanted Durga Prasad destroyed for the things he kept doing to those I loved.'
Hence Karma and Co?'
It was already mine when we started communicating, but yes I expanded it empowered by the flames of revenge. I had almost destroyed him, the storm had almost toppled his walls.'
What happened?'
Annapurna Maheshwari happened.' He said in a bitter tone. She had found out you were the one I was in love all along. That you were still alive within her reach.'
She confined you by staking my life?' Swara sounded stunned. Sanskar nodded slightly.
She already knew I had Agoraphobia thanks to their past actions, she knew if I was trapped somewhere the symptoms would increase, making me unable to get out ever. She had the ace and she played it well. You had the assassin planted by your side all the while. One of my toes out of her line, you would have lost your life.
She wouldn't have managed that!' Swara said alarmed.
Sanskar gave a snort of sarcastic laughter
Do you know who it was?'
She shook her head slightly. The man who I saw following me at the temple?' she made a wild guess.
I sent him,' said Sanskar. But seems like someone had twisted that a bit. You weren't supposed to find out where he was from. Who I mean is someone you've come to trust with your life.'
No,' Swara said in a shocked whisper. No.'
Yes,' Sanskar tilted his head. Lakshya.'
He was the man in the room that day? The man with the knife? Why?'
I had broken the promise right? You saw me that evening. It was a warning for me.'
Swara leaned against the wall, too weak to stand up all by herself and wrapped her arms around herself, slightly shivering in the memory.
Why?' It was all she could manage to ask.
He is in love with you,' replied Sanskar. Then he found out you were all in for some phoenix. It's not that hard to work out you have to eliminate the bird.'
So he was the one who told Mrs. Maheshwari I was the one, not Kavi?'
Hmm.'
And she played this game with you?'
He had his benefit in it.'
That's why he was so understanding, helping me in my search, because he knew I would never reach the goal myself. That I would never find you.'
He was right.'
No, he was not.' She said hotly. I found you, you're here.'
But you have moved on, times have changed.'
This time Swara managed to cup his face, in her shaking palms, making him look in to her eyes.
Nothing have changed, not a thing.'
Do you mean it?' His tone was casual, yet lightly strained with an impossible hope. Really?'
Yes,' she said in a firm tone. But I think it is time for something to change, at least for Mrs. Maheshwari. I've done being her chess piece.'

Unknown to them the bolted door was open. Swara who had used to mirror entrance had not seen it, neither had Sanskar who was too caught up in her words. There on the threshold stood Lakshya, watching his years of effort washing away in one moment of reconciling. Maybe that was love, the more you compress it, it only doubles in intensity, not weaken with time. He had learned it the hardest way. All this time, playing this war of intellect he believed she was attainable, within his reach. He believed she would one day come to him willingly. That happy illusion was snatched from his rather ruthlessly.
Sanskar...who always managed to win, no matter what was the challenge thrown at him, had once more turned his luck. Feeling the utter fury burning inside him Lakshya turned away, closing his eyes.
He had tried the softer way, there were more sinister approaches.
Annapurna watched him leave, with his heavy steps muffled against the cold stone floor and sighed to herself. She knew the revelation of how weak his bond with his love had been would break Lakshya. But that was the only way to push him in to contributing in her plans. At the moment her battle was halted due to the lack of a proper warrior, with Lakshya at her side once more like it had been three years ago, she would plan the ultimate slaughter and end this war once and forever.
