Rapper Lil Jon confirms death of his son DJ Young Slade after being found near a pond close to his house

Nathan Smith, also known as DJ Young Slade and the 27-year-old son of rapper Lil Jon, was discovered near a pond close to his Georgia residence. The Milton Police Department reported on social media that there was no initial indication of foul play, with the cause of death pending further investigation. On Friday, February 6, authorities confirmed that divers from the Cherokee County Fire Department recovered Smith's body at 11:53 a.m.

Lil Jon has confirmed the heartbreaking news, sharing a statement in memory of his son. "His mother, Nicole Smith, and I are devastated. Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet. He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate, and warmhearted. He loved his family and the friends in his life to the fullest," the rapper wrote.

Further, the statement read, "We loved Nathan with all of our hearts and are incredibly proud of him. He was loved and appreciated, and in our last times together, we’re comforted in knowing that we expressed that very sentiment to him."
