Hi!
Some clues and some truths for you to enjoy!
Take some rest Beta,' Annapurna said affectionately. For some reason Swara avoided looking in to her eyes as she settled on the bed with her help. The glitter of Annapurna's eyes, the reflection of utter contentment there, frightened her. It reminded her uneasily of a python that was slowly wrapping its body around her in to a suffocating embrace. Although she was no near proving it, Swara strongly felt Annapurna had some connection to the phenomenon taking place around her. She felt as if she had walked in to a trap, smartly laid all around her for some reason and was looking for an escape desperately.
As she watched Annapurna retreat Swara's mind wandered back towards the previous week's events. Lakshya was back, but it did not turn things better. Strange things surrounded her, starting from the man following her at the temple, the shadow she spotted lurking in the corners, strange accidents that seemed to occur daily, including the most recent break failure of her car and most daring the blank periods in her memory.
Lakshya was annoyed with her behavior, complaining she was acting strange. Ragini watched her as if she was afraid of her company, as if she might turn in to a monster suddenly and Annapurna was unusually caring, almost never leaving her side. The bonds she held with effort was slipping away as she watched helplessly. Swara herself had started to question her sanity, as she saw the doubt in everyone's eyes. The only salvation she could spot here was thinking that somehow, Annapurna was planning this, driving her insane, for some twisted motive. There was only one person who could help her at that.

Shermishta wasn't sleeping well for the past few days. She could not share her worries with anyone, or her reasons behind the said feelings. Most desperately she wanted Swara away from that country, where secrets where buried beneath the past she had forgotten. No matter what her daughter thought, she was not the most pristine in her actions. To reach where she was now, she had pulled some very dark shadows and paid some heavy debts. Her only worry was that those sins committed out of her own helplessness would haunt her daughter, the only remaining link of her happiness. She had lost a lot, lot more than many and had no intention of losing more.
As she leaned back on her chair and closed her eyes, some dusty memories resurfaced in her mind. The eyes of that child were fearfully wide yet holding her gaze firmly.
They send you didn't they?' He asked in a small voice, that sounded a lot more mature than his age. To help me?'
Yes,' she said slowly. I'm supposed to help you let go of the bad memories, lessen your fears, help you sleep.'
So, if you exclude the sugar coat, you're going to make me forget? You're going to help them sleep better knowing I would not remember their crimes?'
What you think happened is not true dear, you're living an imagination.'
Whatever,' said he said, tilting his head. Can we at least not lie to each other Miss counselor, I know who pays you.'
Hmm,' she said slowly. I'm not going to hurt you.'
I don't think you're capable of that, because I've been tortured already. However thank you for extending this courtesy; I hope your children would never suffer others trying to portray them insane!'

Her dark hair was short and cut stylishly to frame her face. She shook them off her eyes and folded her arms glaring at her.
Do you know what you have done Shona?'
Swara blinked at her. That tone of her sister always indicated an approaching danger. She sighed. Perhaps she should have solved this on her own, without making a mess by informing her.
Of cause,' she said seeing Swara was not going to reply. Now you'd have to set everything alright, yourself.'
I will,' she said in a small voice. I'm sorry Di.'
Please, don't play the victim card okay. Why don't you begin by telling everyone the truth, starting from your phoenix?'
I will tell him, when we meet.'
Unfortunately that event never came to pass. Swara recalled as she passed the length of her room. She was not going to sleep that night. With Annapurna's eyes and that intruder's memory still sharp in her mind, she was not going to let her senses rest. Swara was waiting for a phone call, from a contact that would shed some light in to her dark mess of life. It was already late, the midnight chimed a few minutes ago.
Then her phone buzzed, she picked it up before the second ring and answered the call.
Yes, what did you find out?'
The man who followed her did not inflect any harm. But she had been observing his behavior quite closely to notice the car he went off in. That number plate would give her some information. It would confirm or deny the suspicions she had on Annapurna.
It's a company vehicle? Really?' She said listening hard and absorbing the information. What company? Karma? Karma and Co? No, no. It's alright, I've never heard of that before that's all. Yes, yes, thanks again.'
With last few parting words exchanged she disconnected the call and slammed her palm against her forehead.
Karma and Co?' She muttered to herself and went to her laptop. Sitting cross-legged on her bed and surfing quickly through her browser. She typed the search term.
Karma and Co
It took her browser a moment to fill its white page with suggestions.
Sanskar Maheshwari...' Swara muttered to herself as she moved through the information. So Karma is yours, huh. But who are you?'
She went through everything that her browser had dug up, but there were no photographs of Sanskar Maheshwari. It seemed he was a complete invisible man. It seemed odd for Swara. A man who owned wealth enough to awe inspire people would never retire to sidelines silently. The same man had sent someone after her. Why? What connection could they possibly share?
Her curiosity had completely overpowered her sleep then. She sat upright and adjusted the laptop inserting a new search term.
Sanskar Maheshwari
And she gasped, clapping her fingers against her lips lightly.

A storm was coming. The air was warm and heavy and an occasional lightning flashing against her window, which Ragini just noticed was open. She had come to her room after a tiresome day, with hopes of getting some sleep. Her hopes of rest vanished however as she turned towards her room after shutting the window tightly.
Swara was sitting patiently in her couch, her laptop opened and resting on the cushion beside her. Shivering unintentionally Ragini glanced at the clock on the bedside table.
It was one am.
Swara?'
She stood up, slowly and folded her arms.
I know what you did Ragini.' She said slowly. The Prasad and everything.'
What are you talking about?'
Do you really want me to go to the police with that piece of Prasad you tried to shove in my mouth, or will you like the easy way?'
Ragini blinked. Swara could see the wheels turning behind her pale innocent face. She was intelligent enough to see her advantage and grasp it.
What do you want?' She asked finally.
Tell me about Sanskar.'
What?' Ragini was taken by surprise completely. Whatever she had expected this was not that. Won't you ask why I did it? Or who wants you dead?'
People have wanted me dead even before this, but this is the first time someone wanted me alive so badly. Tell me Ragini, he is Lakshya's cousin that I know, his parents are no more that also I know. But I strongly feel, that's where the truth about him ends. The article I've read about one of the youngest achievers three years ago concluded he was no more. But you and I both know that is not true right? Sanskar is alive, he is inside these walls. Why don't you begin from there?'
He is no more Swara. Your article was right.' Ragini said through clenched teeth and closed eyes.
I still have that Prasad Ragini,' Swara said mildly.
Ragini sat on the bed, shivering slightly once more.

Annapurna listened to the firm tone of Swara threatening Ragini and her lips curled slowly. With Sanskar protecting her it was hard to drag her out of Lakshya's life. The first blow should be aimed at the shield, either to crack it, or to make the enemy take it off. Annapurna was expert in doing the second form of action. Soon Swara's definition on friends and foes would change. She would doubt the friend and trust the enemy. That would then be the time to strike!

I know it was kind of a tiresome read, but had to get over with this, to move forward.
Thanks for reading.
I'm sorry if anyone was disappointed.
As always your words inspire me, so please tell me your thoughts!
