Chapter 1
A group of men waited for the caravan to pass the dense forests. The orders given were simple - attack and kidnap the princess. No mercy was to be shown to anyone. All the men were highly trained soldiers who had studied under Guru Raghvendra Acharya. He had also taught them some valuable principles that many people had forgotten only to lead materialistic lives. As soon as footsteps were heard they all got ready and when the target came into their view a voice said: Attack.
The princess sat silently in her palanquin as she was transported from her birth home to the new kingdom where she was to be wed to the old king. The alliance was finalised by the elders who had received a lump sum of gold and other finery for the decision. She was sold to the king for gold coins and jewellery - her mother had tried hard to stop them from taking her and was locked away. She was expecting a child so nobody wanted to harm her but there was nothing that could be done about it. The princess prayed for her mother and her would be siblings safety. As she clutched her dupatta tied as thoughts of a dark future stormed her mind she felt her finger prick when she realised the dagger she had stolen and kept with her. She would embrace death than let the lecherous old man touch her. She was a Rajput - Kshatriya princess they were taught from their birth that their honour was of utmost significance and that no harm should ever come to one's honour- that is why they had the holy practice of Jauhar where the women gave themselves willingly to the sacred fire to save them from being humiliated by the enemy.
Suddenly her procession jerked to a stop and cries of attack rang out scaring the princess. She stepped out to see masked men fighting with her soldiers when one of her servants told her to run. She looked at her unable to do anything when the servant dragged her by the hand towards the dense forest.
One of the masked men saw the running girls and informed his companions when their leader spoke up: catch them and don't let the princess escape. She is essential for our victory
Chapter 2
The Rajputana was no more the land of the brave warriors and honourable men it had turned into the land of cowards who were ruled by greed and lust. Mewar, Marwar, Bundi and Bijolia the four strong nations that were once known for their valour now were places of exchange. Everything was for profit from objects to animals and even humans. Men sold women like cattle and royalty did openly under the pretence of marital alliances. So many princesses had been married off to men 3 times their age for the sake of wealth and other resources promised to the weaker states. Leading the four nations in this crusade was none other than Rana Uday Singh of Mewar who had married 24 times already and was preparing for his 25th following him close behind was Rao Maldev of Marwar and then came Rao Surtan Singh of Bundi and last was Rao Mamrakh who had married only once and refused to marry again due to a curse he had received from the girl he was supposed to marry who had burnt herself alive in front of all present.
Rana Uday Singh sat in his luxurious chambers waiting to hear the arrival of his 25th consort. His new bride was barely 15 to his 39 but he had maintained his health as he did not look that older unlike Rao Maldev or Surtan Singh. As soon as he thought of Surtan Singh his mind conjured up the image of Surtan's wife DheerBai Bhatiyani - no one knew that Dheer Bai and Uday Singh were involved - for the outsiders they were acquaintances as they were both royals while for the insiders they maintained a good act but reality was known to but two people -US and DB.
As US sat drinking in the contents of the glass tumbler his eyes fell on portrait that hung on one of the side walls - it was of his first wife Jaiwanta Bai Songara. She was a woman of substance who did not allow Uday Singh to command her or even come near her. He had drugged her to lower her defences and then she had given birth to their son with whom she had escaped when he was only six months old. Jaiwanta was the one who had escaped his clutches and he hadn't being able to find her till now. He remembered the war he had waged with her family over her disappearance and won but came empty handed. He sent spies everywhere searching for her but when no news came after 5 years of search he declared her and his first born son dead. Soon his second wife Sajja Bai Solankhini also died due to the plague and took his two sons with her to the afterlife and so did his fourth wife Veer Bai who was initially being given away to Rao Maldev - that had caused a cold war between Marwar and Mewar for some time but then US had declared that his first daughter would be given away in marriage to Rao Maldev but unfortunately Veer Bai died due to complications in her birth and the twins she carried did not survive. Uday Singh had one son Jagmal whom he had with Dheer Bai Bhatiyani as far as everyone was concerned Jagmal was US's son from one of his many wives who died but there was one man who knew the truth and he was the one who planned on bringing the entire Rajputana down on his knees.

Everytime you start a new story i be like oh this one would be same thoda but then you always prove me wrong! Each of your stories are roller coasters always fun to ride on!
