People wont go for ARK.

Kat is a BO draw.
The cast is amazing.
The story will be great. Its Charles Dickens and Abisheikh is an able director.
Music too will be good. Amit said its his best yet.
It is releasing on Valentines so you can expect the usual crowd as well seeing its a love story.

Lots and lots of positives.

They better not mess up the rest of the plot. I really want to see Great Expectations come to life.

If she is playing her sister then stop calling this an adaptation of GE as this change is going to destroy the story in the book. Convict, Estella and Miss Havisham will lose very important traits to their characters.

Looks like you have great expectations from Great Expectations. 😆 Sorry to burst your bubble, Arsal, but Abhishek said this is not only a modern version... it is his take on the novel. Toh Dickens ji ko bhool jao aap.

"It is set in an Indian milieu. I have not taken the story as it is, but have worked on it to show my take on it," he says

Fitoor is a romantic album. So expect something along the lines of Iktara.

BV was bloody brilliant as well hence qAmit was right. Its just that jazz is not something Indian public hear. Which wont be the case with Fitoor.

I know., have been following it from the beginning. They cant make it as it is. It wont work here with the audience. But the changes he is taking about is just taking the story from that setting to an Indian one.

For example, Adi's character is an artist (painter). Biddy's role is being played by Lara and she is an art counselor.

The main story is the same and that is what interests me the most which will be the same. I want to see how they bring it about on the big screen. They have retained all the character, their traits and are going for the same settings as well (Indian) version. Kashmir(Pip's hometown); Mumbai (London) and Dehli (Paris; I guess they have made a set there).

Lara said in an interview a few days back that hers was the only character that wasn't based on the book. Its inspired from Biddy, I think.

So most of it will be based on the book which an Indian touch to get a familiar feel with the audience. So that is what he meant by my take on it.

And yup, I have great expectations from great Expectations.😉

I'm telling you, this is going to be more like Alfonso Cuaron's Great Expectations than Dickens's.

So, watch that version online and save money.

This is from an article when they were shooting it in Kashmir;

Fitoor revolves around 13-year old Noor who's a Shikara rover living around Dal Lake. "Noor is lured into the world of the Begum- a wealthy woman played by Rekha who stays in her dilapidated Kashmiri mansion in the valley. Noor falls in love with her adopted daughter Firdaus- a gorgeous child who is being raised to break hearts," said Khawar Jamsheed, who is the line producer of the film in Kashmir.
The story begins in the winters of Kashmir where a beautiful, ordinary boy finds himself in a world where important people, expensive things and social interaction is common.
"Seasons change, years pass and the red, looming Chinars shed their leaves. Noor leaves behind a familiar Kashmir and becomes an artist that is fast grabbing eyeballs in the swanky city of Delhi. He raises the bar for himself and strives to be a part of the upper class circles that Firdaus moves around in. But does Noor really belong to their world? Does Firdaus even love him back?' he said.
"This film seeks to explore the dominant conflict of classes in our country, the impact that a broken heart can have and what role true love and ambitions play among it," he said.

Oh I have seen that version. Found it quite bad tbh.

But I asked a cast member (its better this way😆) about it and they said it wasn't based on that version. So lets see. But this was back in 2014 and they hadn't started shooting yet.
