Why can't the girls get jobs??

Hi everyone so watching TSM I felt the story is very similar to my one, When I was a kid,my dad was a buisnessman and we are 3 sisters too, We use to go to a prestigious International School in Mumbai and lead a cvomfortable life
then suddenly he suffered a huge lose and was bankrupt and in heavy debt, overnight we went from living in a posh home in Bandra to a chawl nearby

However my dad wasn't a quiiter like Rishi is and we as a family managed to overcome those days

BUT Now here is the thing, I was around 8 at that time and my sisters 4 and 6!! and we were nowhere near as rich as Amaya's family, what I meant was we were a comfortable uppermiddle class family then overnight became poor

From what I see in this show, the older sister who was getting engaged and all seems like a grown up woman around 22 or 24

Amaya seems around 18-20 and the youngest a teenager

Since they lead such a luxurious life, they must have had a good education aswell

So if the dad went bankrupt and committed suicide, Why can't their older sister get a job, ya know, like we regular civilians do for a living? Or were they spoonfed to the point they cannot imagine getting a job like us regular civilians?

even their mom seems like an illogical woman, you know, they could just go to Delhi or somewhere metro in India get jobs and lived their life comfortably there

But instead they went to Benaras and Amaya was showing selling tea in the promos

I Mean come on people, heights!! Why would an educated girl, most probablly in great Internation School go on to sell tea in the streets and not just apply for a regular job?

I Would assume Amu is young, but the older one, what abt her? if she was getting engaged, she must be an adult

what abt their mom?

Do they want to portray they are all useless and incapable with their ''gold daddy''?

Shows like these sure seem to portray so, even if not intentionally

good post dear
its pathetic to read your true story
coming to the show
i think the cvs want to show how the family is suffering to make an earning
the elder sister needs time to search for a job
while amaya has just now finished her graduation
what will they do for todays dinner
may be thats why they showed her selling tea

Hi there ...it Ws heart wrenching to read ur story n I m glad u guys came out a winner

Now abt the show Rishi was one of the many cowards who don't know how to face the reality when calamity strikes ..but I m hoping the girls will work once they reach Benaras .lcos in one of the promos too they show Amaya looking for work ( hopefully ) on the streets when she says she ain't a loser

Well all I can hope is the show is handled well n with maturity ...I hope the makers do justice to it 😆

Ayesha big hug to u dear. But u r winner. Ur post is 👍🏼 perfect. U r absolutely right about the girls. Rishi was a coward person. Who left his family for suffer. May the girls will work in Benares. The writer's needs to bring some realty in the show

Selling tea is not a bad thing. And I don't think she is considering a career as a tea-seller... must be something she is doing till she gets a regular job. Its not easy to get a job immediately within a day in an unknown place and that too without any job experience.

i guess they are trying to show that no job is too high or low for a person to do. Right now she needs quick cash to provide food on the table for her family so she is willing to take up anything. Hopefully in the future we can see her working in a office or something more realistic.

I'm sure they will show them having appropriate jobs soon. Promos could be misleading ;) I think the writers are doing a good job taking time to show the Mathur's downfall- it just goes to show the daughters are going to need to work thrice as hard now. As for going to Banaras- the purpose of the show as the creator has said is to show that opportunities are available in smaller cities now- one doesn't need to go to big cities. This chai thing will def be temporary! :)

And glad you're family came out the situation fine.

Rishi was a coward and not man enough to face the problems. He never for once thought of the consequences, difficulties n situations his wife n three daughters will face...was his love true then when he have left his dirt for his family ...
