His grandfather music director Roshanlal was Gujju. Thats why the Roshan surname. But many claims hez punjabi. 😕

I dont knw but thought he was punjabi, gujji never heard that!! Maybe he is but im shocked then, hindu is only thing im sure on regarding him!!

Might be but in wiki says this, though how reliable not sure , but some Roshans have been punjabi !!

Roshan was born in a Punjabi Khatri. His father was the Bollywood music director Roshan, and his younger brother Rajesh Roshan is also a music director. Rakesh is married to Pinky, daughter of director J. Om Prakash. His son, Hrithik Roshan, is an actor. He also has a daughter, Sunaina. He studied in Sainik School, Satara, Maharashtra.
