Thanx every1. Bazigar, yeah i been thru that exp. in Brindavan, they pulled us and sit thru a pooja or aarti ansks 5000 rs.. in the name of my son or our ancestors, naagdosh, pitrudosh, all the scary stuff.. and what not.. been thru that.

Im going to Shantikunj Ashram( Gayatri pariwar) in Haridwar. May be i shud ask them. They know my dad well. I been there 18 years ago.. loved the place. I love train journey but lots of baggage to carry.

I will find out eventually. 😊 And yeah, Dehradun and masourie also Hrishikesh etc.. I missed out last time. I will make most of my time this time.

Its just I been told dont hire a taxi from the rank but go to reg. travel agency where driver/cab r registered.

NO offence to any1. I know one idiot called Rajashtan and Gujarat shitholes here, when he himself belongs to Delhi and Kashmir. I m trying to be imformative. coz lots of valuables i m gonna carry for my in-laws.

I visited India, Delhi two years back with my friend, with my blah Hindi language skills and yet did not face any issue. In fact I lost my mobile phone and some random Delhi fella found it for me. It was such a good experience for me

You can take a taxi. People are too fearful. Don't worry about these things based on other's experiences or fears. As long as you are practical and smart do your own research and keep a low profile you should be perfectly fine.

I m not scared blv me.. I m just being safe and also want Comforatble journey. Its just no matter how good my hindi or gujarati dialects r.. ppl can str8away figure out we r NRIs. I normally give more than they charge if the service is good. I count it in NZ dolllar which is 50 Rs.

I also know now abt Dehradun and Masourie.. kewl. I hope Dehradun is as beautiful as my all time fav movie- JJWS. 😊

Just include "BC" and "janta hai mera baap kaun hai" in your slang
you will fit right in.

Aye saane, chal patli gali pakad verna aisan kharcha pani doonga kaan le niche ..ke muh se goo nikaelga aur pichwadese poo. Janta nahi apun kaun? Bhai.. haan, vo salman wala bhai nahi, asal me bole to bhai, ye ghoda dekela na.. ye chalta to khoon ke sath shushu nikal jati, chal bhaag kisi neta ki dhoti me ghoos ja.. huoorhhh

Me too. But believe me things are not as awful as people make it seem. You seem cautious so I think you would be fine. I survived in India for a year and I was told a lot of nonsense I just chose not to believe in any of it. Yes, there are crazy psychos around, but so are the decent folks. I hope you run into the later.
