Member topic: I took the wrong job, need help!

I am sure all of you work a full-time job. I took a high-paying controller with a Japanese manufacturing company in California and am struggling! This is my first week and I am about ready to have a nervous breakdown. The staff I am managing is incompetent and they are going to bring me down with them.

I am so stupid for saying yes!
I am interviewing and don't have another job to go to now.

I am hoping a big company will save me, but it won't be Boeing!

You are saying staff is incompetent. That looks like they are making a lot of mistakes doing accounting work. Accounting work at clerical level needs great accuracy otherwise it becomes a big headache for the Controller to spend hours to catch the errors.

You need to manage your staff in a way so they may be able to give good output. Where ever they are making mistakes, you need to provide feedback to them regarding their mistakes, and need to tell them what problems you are facing in accounting due to the errors being made by them.

You need to keep this job until you get another one.
