Aaj ka episode ko kya naam doon? At least the story moved forward... And one thing I absolutely cheered about was Jalal did not go after Jodha to Amer. I mean for the separation track of a serial to work ... There has to be a separation. At least, itni toh logic baakhi hein CVs mein ... 😆
Now, this does not mean he will not reach Amer based on the spoiler pics ... But no matter how desperate he is to manaofy his Jodha Begum he didn't follow her today ... And that is enough for me to he happy for today.😊If he reaches there because of some illogic, then I will get upset.
Because Jodha is very much stuck in his outburst, if she keeps seeing him that is all that is going to come in her mind. What she needs is time to come to realize what Jalal means to her ... And she is going to realize that with a separation and a big shock that will come in the form of Abul Mali and his attack on Jalal (Boy, are Sharidffudin and Adham Khan ineffecient!) Now, I never thought I would ever be thankful to Abul Mali except for consoling me on what a bad hair day really is. 😆
We all know nothing will happen to Jalal- and he will be saved by his Jodha's love, prayers, and lep ... So, though it is painful to see, we all know he will survive as the CVs cannot change history that much! Right? 😉
So, here is my take 5:
(1) Jalal ko mil gaya ek defense attorney: Bharmal is one good defense attorney for Jalal ... He used every emotional word possible for Jodha to understand Jalal's repentance and restlessness that he has read in eyes (Guys, I am resisting making the joke and you know what it is) ... Now, we always knew it wouldn't work ... But I am glad someone tried to defend him.
Because Jalal is beyond defending himself, he again admits he has done a "gunaah" and he only wants to manaofy Jodha. Now, this was one self-talk of Jalal's I did not understand- how did he plan to do that if Jodha was on Amer and him in Agra? Was it his hope that she would come with him to Agra?
If only he knew he had so many defense attorneys in this forum! But alas, if the defendant himself admits to full guilt ... What are the defense attorneys supposed to do? Again, I don't think admission of full guilt is not because that is actually the case but because he is fully in love, has lost his ego, and has the humility and graciousness to admit his mistakes and understand Jodha's POV and her pain.
(2) Convincing Jodha 101 from Bharmal and Shehnaaz: While Jalal had a tough time convincing, I was amused by the tactics Bharmal and Shehnaaz used to convince Jodha successfully ... Jalal, kuch to seekho! 😆
- Bharmal's tactics: Threatened to leave his whole kingdom and stay with her in Mathura till she is there ...
Now, Jalal why couldn't try that? ... Wait a minute, he is doing that, leaving his kingdom and going after Jodha Begum. Guess that wasn't quite effective? And if he did do that, she would try to run away again.
Now, how could Jodha go against her promise to her Mother? I felt like singing to Jodha, "Kya hua tera vaada , woh kasam , woh iraada?" But, I hope her Daadisa and Maasa teach her that it is the intent of the promise that was above the promise itself and I saw some positive sankets for that- more on that later.
- Shehnaaz's tactics were two-fold: First, sit in Jodha's palanquin!
I imagined , what would have Jodha's reaction between if Jalal hid in her palanquin? Thankfully, Jalal did not give us the opportunity to find out ... But she would have likely jumped out terrified as if she had seen a snake! 😆
But, the second tactic of Shehnaaz was "you promised never to leave me." See that is the promise Jalal forgot to take from Jodha Begum! Though he did pray for exactly that at Salim Chisti and Jodha prayed for him... But alas, that now seems a distant dream. He better take this promise before the CVs introduce the next MU! 😉
(3) Jalal's tactic to convince Jodha - the "puppy eyes": The romantic in me could not resist the "awww so cute" and how he was pleading with his eyes to not go. He was trying to see if talking with his eyes could be more effective ... But no, his tactic was not as effective as Bharmal's or Shehnaaz's.
However, Jodha has already melted a bit in one day ... From "you have done something that is unforgiveable" she has gone to "I am not ready to forgive you yet." So, there is hope! I wish Jalal had heard that ... But perhaps he has learned to read it in her eyes. Maybe that is why he dreams what he dreams ... Which takes me to my next take
(4) I love Jalal's dreams and always wish they were more true than probably does: The happiness he shows when he sees Jodha is amazingly beautiful and innocent ... The warmth in Jodha's face was truly touching ... And I saw Kajri standing in front of us!
Thankfully, the CVs did not trick us today and the different dress made it clear Jalal was dreaming. The CVs didn't cry wolf again!
My wish is that one day we do get a Jodha who loves Jalal selflessly and understands his perspective as much as her own; And I have some hope this will happen and here is why:
(5) Positive sankets for the future:
- Bharmal said that Daadisa and Mainavati will help Jodha understand
- Daadisa shows some wisdom to Mainavati over how the intent of a promise is more important than the promise ... Hope she shares the same with Jodha
- Gangaur festival is upon us where this whole love story started and will hopefully will be re-kindled shortly
Honorable Mention: Is it clear to anyone else, how much I love Todadmal ... So much dignity and respect he commands on the screen ... Loved how he excused himself to allow the Shehenshah and Bharmal to talk and had the humility to apologize he could not recognize Jodha Begum when he hadn't seen her yet! When are you coming to Agra? That is an important question for me at the moment.
Logical question of the day: Now the show started with Ganguar, then their wedding, and then Holi ... Now we have Holi, then Ganguar ... God knows when their wedding anniversary was/is. Anyone know, why this is the case?
