No, bollywood is not bad. The problem that many have isn't with Bollywood..it's with these Pakistani actors and their priorities. I don't mind if a Pakistani actor or actress works outside of the country in any other industry, let alone Bollywood. Our film industry isn't the best out there...but, it's prospering and has potential. In the past in particular, I don't blame Pakistani actors trying to aim for Bollywood..as that was perhaps the closest they could get to doing films given how similar the two countries are etc. Our films didn't have much to offer years back as there were a lot of issues financially etc.
With all of that said..I don't quite understand the obsession with going to Bollywood at this point in time. For instance..with Fawad Khan...I love Fawad. I think he's an amazing actor with so much talent. He achieved a lot in the past few years. Our film industry started to produce amazing films in the past 2 years specifically..and I've heard that many producers have tried roping in Fawad. The problem has always been - Fawad demands way too much money..too much of this and that etc. Fair enough..he has gotten to a point where he can ask for a lot and I feel he deserves it. However, at his very peak..Fawad decides to do a bollywood film. A film which supposedly does not have a substantial role for him? 😕 yet he'll get a huge paycheck when compared to what some of the Pakistani producers may have to offer him. Going back to what I said..it's not bollywood..it's the priority of some of these actors which I question. In Fawad's case..it's as if he made a base for himself within Pakistan..peaked amazingly and then that's it. Moreover, I don't see Fawad signing any project within Pak anytime soon. If and whenever he does...it may just not be the same for him. It's cases like these which annoy people and being an ardent fan of Fawad's all along..I question his priorities as an actor too. I feel he has been more adamant on money and fame as of late that he sort of just forgot where it all started from. He could easily do a Pakistani film and arguably have it succeed..he's at that point where he has the starpower...yet he failed to do that and chose Bollywood films instead. That's where I appreciate the likes of someone like Hamza Ali Abbasi..who despite being a fairly new talent..is doing his best in films and even on television. There's no way Pakistani's film industry will ever do well when good talent from our very own country doesn't give it much significance. It's fine to do work in Bollywood..especially if you're being offered good work..but if you're being offered a silly role or nothing as substantial and you can easily do so much more elsewhere..then it's fair enough for people to question you.

This. I completely agree with you.

I've really gone off Fawad recently because he just comes off as such a hypocrite. I remember him saying years ago that he'd never go to Bollywood because he thinks Pakistan is starting to produce some excellent stuff, so there's no need to go elsewhere. Then he goes to Bollywood. For a freakin remake of Khoobsurat. I can't even put into words how much of an idiot that makes him look like.

That's why, like you, I admire actors like Hamza Ali, Saba Qamar, Iman Ali, Sanam Baloch, etc.

Hamza especially is a revelation, have you guys seen the trailer for mudhouse and the golden doll? I saw it years ago and only just realised it's Hamza in the movie. He also directed it. I want to watch it even more now, the trailers been going around for about 2/3 years now, but still no movie...

Good morning to all of you ! have great day! Chalo! it was good debate if only ten people can change the world!!! . 😛
BTW i don't take anything personal 😛f

Indian cinema is BIG industry that is giving one Giant Film industry of the world run for its money! I am proud that i believe in this industry and its openness of accepting all kinds of artists in its growth be it a DOP from Spain, or actor from France or Singer from Pakistan , it believes in the talent ( to a certain extent) nothing more nothing less.
I also believe in personal choices...who are we to judge what one chooses to do!

I am sure all of you are working for your country and your personal growth comes secondary! so proud of you guys!!! 👏

i hope Pakistan industry flourishes...btw justt for your knowledge German, French. Spanish, Italian film industries have been beaten by Hollywood and their actors become would famous because of Hollywood! the debate continues there too...but they have given up! and accepted and are flourishing within it! thats what i was asking for ... but ...😛
good day to all! and having watching and criticising! 😉

Yeah, I'm not too sure what Fawad's thinking is in all of this. There was this interview where he said working within Pakistan is his first priority..yet I'm not too sure what that really meant now. As you said, it just makes him seem hypocritical. I don't know what else he's getting offered in bollywood but after hearing and reading about how his role in Khoobsurat is more or less nothing..as a fan I feel really disappointed. It's as if he just took up something as big as a bollywood project because it brings in more money than a film/tv show in Pakistan. I mean at a time when we've had amazing films come out..I'm not too sure how he just decides to leave. I think he's still getting offered work in Pakistan but he either rejects it because of whatever "lineup" he has in Bollywood..or asks for way too much money which the producers aren't willing to spend. If some of our supposed biggest stars can't help films (in particularly at such a time) prosper then I'm not sure who else will. At this rate, I don't know if he'll take up any project in Paksitan anytime soon..and whenever he does again, who knows what the situation may be.

And agreed..that's exactly why I have this profound respect for some of these other leading actors/actresses...especially Hamza - who is indeed a refreshing revelation. He's doing tremendous work and he's fairly new which makes his work even more commendable. He has this awesome vision and he's fully determined to put it forth and offer his best. Whatever this guy is doing is really praiseworthy and admirable. 3 films already..another as a director + actor..has a decent television show on air currently..and, his fan following is increasing day by day.. I hope he takes up a few more shows so I can have more chances of seeing him onscreen. 😆 Are you following Pyare Afzal by the way?

Why even bother starting an argument if your not even going to read peoples opinions or try to understand what their saying, rather just jump to your own conclusions and take offence?

If were talking about Fawad here, my disappointment with him going to Bollywood is because he could help make our industry better before setting foot into Bollywood, especially when he claimed that he loves working for his country and it's his priority. He's hugely popular, and could help producers cash in enough, just to at-least start from somewhere.
Pakistan has some incredibly talented scripts that never get the chance to see the day because the production can never work out. Script writers can't even approach someone like Fawad because he ranks his fees so high despite being aware of the fact that this is Pakistan and where our industry stands. He gets tired of doing dramas here because their repetitive but then chooses Khoobsoorat which comparitively seems to be similar role wise to what he's done in Pakistan in the past. If he had gone to Bollywood after giving us more substantial work to hold onto, I don't see it as a problem. But now he most probably won't be making a comeback to television which I believe is a loss to our industry... This whole year he's supposedly working in Bollywood.

I love Pyare Afzal. I think it's the best thing on TV right now. So sweet and refreshing.

Sonam Kapoors home production films are basically a vehicle for her. The male actor is always just there for a bit of eye candy or to give gravitas to the film because she's not famous/popular enough to carry a movie 100% on her own. That's what happened with Abhay Deol in Aisha. He's a talented actor, she was lucky to get him, and then he was barely in the film. Fawad will be in Khoobsurat even less.

Mud house and the golden doll, was Hamza's first project. He was talking about it in an interview recently and basically said he made the movie on the spur of the moment, with only one camera, and a shoe-string budget. This guy is excellent.

As an Pakistani artist not getting the role they deserve...i can many indian actors don'tt get it too!
so try your luck...at least they can boack to flourishing career! unlike thousands who struggle in Mumbai!
today bolllywood is open... they are looking for talent and we make all kinds a movie from DEv D to band baja baraat to monsoon wedding to dilwale dulhanya! no??? so why not let an actor perform and choose something different ...if pakistan had an industry and the money to make such films, i am sure they would have! also they need the audience...i read some where that indian soaps are very popular and so are indian are films ... why not! and why do actors have to be the bear the mantle to bring back the industry... i think Zeba zeba Bakhtiar was discovery by Raj kapoor and today she speaks venom against an Bollywood just because she could not make it!
DONT blame others for your own mistakes!
I believe the world has changed ...we don't care ...as long as the pond is big and we can all fit and swim in it! its all good Bollywood is open and is welcoming talent ...i don't care who sings the moon river as long as he is good looking man! 😉

as for Fawad! i think he will shine in four scenes if need be! Thats talent and you should be proud of him!

But the Pak industry is flourishing...recently there have been 2-3 films produced which were really good..so i think actors lyk fawad should have tried working for the Paki industry and making it better first, before going to India...becoz who knows currently he got 2 films there..so gradually he'll just settle there forever...
