so bad for actors who want to go there...I am new member and I like pakistani soaps as i have recently started watching them and find them good...but every timeIi visit a page someone is complaining about indian cinema and all actors- gunning to go there ...is is Bad?

i feel as an artist they want to grow and indian cinema is only other cinema industry who is giving Hollywood run for their money!

As for the artist they are talented so why should india. ,hollywood be different they are just working and making films and showing their talent... its to be proud of rather than ridicule in my books. Is bollywood so bad that you don't like them...but you talk about it!

we make mass films, interesting films all kinda films... some good some bad and we look for talent weather they come from Pakistan or london if you work hard you make it in Mumbai.

please lets not make it an india/ Pakistan issue cause if we let go all will flourish!

I think people do not object to Pakistani artists working in bollywood just because it is an Indian industry but maybe because of the reason that when Pakistani artists work in some other industry they create a vacuum here in Pakistan... the same old brain drain phenomenon.

Brain drain ...talent drain! 😊 but its also good no?! new talent gets introduced while the existing goes to Bollywood... at least here they don't play cab drivers or terrorist as they do in Hollywood!

i love to see some talent from Pakistan come to India and become a list heroes atleast they are here because of their talent and not because they are born into A filmy family! 😉

So be proud of the guys who come and make it on the basis of their talent...be it Ali Zafar and hopefully many more! 👏

People complain because obviously they'd want them to first give back to their own industry.
Bollywood is not bad. It's just that many fear that amazing gems of Paki talent, udhar jaake might become "one in a thousand" kind of and would not truly be able to showcase what they could've back home.

But what is important is that as actors they need growth, in characters, in projects.. they need to explore.
And as long as they are taking it to the next level, while holding on to their roots back home, what is wrong in that?
As an Indian, and an avid fan of Paki dramas... whenever I hear of someone phenomenal from Pak coming into Bollywood, I feel so happy thinking ki ab so many more people would appreciate and recognise such a talented artist!

I just like to see people getting appreciated when they work so hard. Then agar poori duniya dekhe, toh yeh toh acchi baat hai na?
As for the Pak industry, it will continue to flourish and grow no matter what, and inshallah a day will come when this cross border rivalry would end, and artists would have the freedom, the support, and the acknowledgement from either side.

We just need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture here.
Nobody wins, nobody loses. If only we could all look past the misconceptions, and just appreciate each others talent, ek doosre ko neecha dikhane ke bajaye!

There is one more thing actually. People also fear that bollywood does not exploit the Pakistani talent as it should. The sort of films/roles Pakistanis get in bollywood are not up to the mark. So most of the people do question why to leave first rate work in your own country and opt. for second rate work somewhere else.

Also bollywood hits and misses are determined not on the basis of Pakistani audience but on the basis of Indian audience. So there is also the question of is Indian audience as receptive to Pakistani talent as Pakistanis can be. I mean I know that there are many Indians who appreciate Pakistani work but that Pakistani work which is made in Pakistan but when it comes to Pakistanis actually going in to their country and work they are not as encouraging. And many of the Indian celebrities and their behavior towards Pakistani artists is proof to that. Without going into the reasons of why this is so but this is the general perception.

I think there was a topic on this earlier lol
The reason why our industry isn't growing is because all our talent is going elsewhere.

No one is making it an India/Pakistan issue. I don't know where you got that from. All people are saying is, rather than doing sub-par stuff in Bollywood these actors should be doing high caliber stuff in Pakistan.

Going to Bollywood is all good and well IF you are doing something that's actually worth the time (like Ali Zafar in Tere Bin Laden). However if you're going to head over to do a chick flick with little to no substance, and that only requires you to be a male flowerpot (I'm looking at you Fawad Khan), why not stay in Pakistan and do something with some substance to it instead.

Personally I find that beyond frustrating.

Bit isn't that personal choice? also if he does flower pot as you say... which i don't agree with because i think as an artist even if you have four scenes and you shine you can walk away with accolades!
As an Pakistani artist not getting the role they deserve...i can many indian actors don'tt get it too!
so try your luck...at least they can boack to flourishing career! unlike thousands who struggle in Mumbai!
today bolllywood is open... they are looking for talent and we make all kinds a movie from DEv D to band baja baraat to monsoon wedding to dilwale dulhanya! no??? so why not let an actor perform and choose something different ...if pakistan had an industry and the money to make such films, i am sure they would have! also they need the audience...i read some where that indian soaps are very popular and so are indian are films ... why not! and why do actors have to be the bear the mantle to bring back the industry... i think Zeba zeba Bakhtiar was discovery by Raj kapoor and today she speaks venom against an Bollywood just because she could not make it!
DONT blame others for your own mistakes!
I believe the world has changed ...we don't care ...as long as the pond is big and we can all fit and swim in it! its all good Bollywood is open and is welcoming talent ...i don't care who sings the moon river as long as he is good looking man! 😉

as for Fawad! i think he will shine in four scenes if need be! Thats talent and you should be proud of him!

You're getting things totally mixed up.

(1) Doing a flowerpot role is not the same as having a small role. Flowerpot role = eye candy, or trophy-actor. Having a small role that is substantial to the film is completely different.

(2) There's a difference between Indian actors getting crap roles in India, and Pakistani actors getting crap roles in India. For Indian actors, they have nowhere else to go, they can only act in India and therefore must carry on no matter what. When Pakistani actors go to India and act in shite it makes them look like idiots because they do have somewhere else to go. They can go back to Pakistan and do stuff that actually challenges them.

(3) Why are you getting so offended? No one has put Bollywood down. No one has said they don't make good films. Bollywood being 'open to talent' has nothing to do with anything. Pakistan has an emerging industry, and quite frankly considering the state the country is in that industry is doing phenomenally well right now. What has Indian soaps and films being popular got to do with anything either? Yes they are popular. You're point? We're not talking about popularity we're talking about quality. If a Pakistani actor went and did an Indian soap I would be beyond pissed off because Indian soaps are crap, so why stop doing Pakistani series for them?

(4) Zeba was not discovered by Raj Kapoor. She was a TV actress in Pakistan before Henna came along. Raj Kapoor was interested in Pakistani TV so he would have known her because of that. And I don't know what you're talking about regarding her putting Bollywood down. (1) She has never done that, I've only heard her praise Bollywood and India. (2) If she ever did criticise Bollywood, and there was a valid reason behind it there would be nothing wrong with that. (3) What mistakes? Again what are you even talking about?
