Out of Body Experiences and Fully Conscious Moments

When the precap shows Jodha breathily remembering her Soul Talk Sapnas in such detail, I realised that ... oh haaan! ...only a person whose soul has left her body can be part of any such discussion. Her soul wanted and waited for him to call her back. It was the only thing she was ready to come back for. Okay. But now that she's back, what can she do with this memory? Because back here on earth, Jodha still can't connect the dots like all heroines.

Rewinding ... 'Shahenshah! Aap Yahan??!!' Jodha startled to see Jalal in her hojra again. He says he can leave...she grabs hold of his arm...don't go...
He looks at how she held him, so she abruptly lets go. It's impertinent even for her to prevent the Shahenshah from leaving if he so wishes. He was the Emperor to her in that moment. But to him, she was the wife whom he doesn't want to leave.

Then the foot bath and Jodha broaches the Bakshi Bano topic. He gets up to leave, she holds his arm in the same way... but different result. Now he IS the Emperor. So a confused Jo goes to Ammi Jaan and asks her to intervene. The BB case is a family issue for Jodha, but an imperial issue for Jalal. BB knows this only too well and treats Jodha as a representative of the Mughal empire, while calling her Bhabhi Jaan.

Out of body experiences are helpful in bridging the emotional gaps. They seem to leave lingering memories and vestigial feelings of having been part of some epic love connection. But fully conscious moments will tend to always put Jodha in the path of some looming disaster. It's enough of a challenge trying to discern which Jalal she is dealing with - Jalal the man, or Jalal the Shahenshah. She always begins every encounter with him by treating him as the Shahenshah first and that, is a good place to start. Jodha has an instinct that preserves her dignity. She is not the kind of person who takes a leap of faith for some ephemeral (to her way of thinking) love vibes. No, she is practical and this love will have to be proved to herself in down to earth ways that she can grasp. -Tangible irrefutable evidence that there is a love that she needs to acknowledge to herself and to him.

Don't ask me what that would entail...except ... it will involve more sacrifice, more heartache...but it will be worth it.

Thank you Rima.

now Jodha is seen as being Bahu #1 according to telly gossip. Seriously. Yes, yes...misunderstandings, sacrifices, heartache... it's the winning formula...what to do...😕

Hi, good writeup 😊 . Yes, Jodha understands now that line where her pati becomes the Shahenshah . But Jodha being a practical natured person needing proofs for love, well...that I need to think about I guess 😳

actually I need to ask... what are the lines that Jalal will never allow anyone to cross... have to feel my way towards that mystery.

Jodha is not a romantic in the way Jalal is. She believes in action rather than words most of the time...so her dreams are not going to be something she takes too seriously. I am uneasy when soul-talk happens in the now 😆. The original soul-talk of them after they have both left this earth is better for me to handle. Some of us are more pragmatic romantics...which may mean we miss out on the magic...

U r right, am more of a practical kind of romantic too 😉 , & JA s soul talks tell us one thing while the actions tell something different altogether 😆 . But coming to Jalal, he will always be an emperor first in some matters , regardless of who stands before him & what emotions he may hold for that person. He ll become a lesser person, which he definitely isnt, if he acts otherwise , I d say.

oh Excellent! practical romance is your thing as well...Gayatri isn't it? Right again...soul talk and actions don't match...so it needs regular 'incidents' here on terra firma to move the love story in some kind of coherent direction.

yes I suppose it depends on what he considers to be matters of state and what he considers to be matters of the heart and what he considers to be family matters... he is generally quite consistent with this and can change his frame of mind from one to the other on a dime. A sign of a great ruler with all his wits about him 24/7.

good write up CB! i think jodha is slowly realizing her feelings towards jalal the man and jalal the shaenshah..she knows where to draw line when it comes to that..jalal the man is where she gets mischievous with him and jalal the shahenshah is where she is scared to ask him of something that he will get angry about..what i like about jalal's character is that he always compartmentalize his priorities, he knows when to soften and when to be harsh even when it comes to his near and dear ones!

Yes Mandy I just echoed your thoughts in previous comment ^ . It makes him a great ruler and also in many ways and extraordinary man. But Jodha will test him and push him to the outer limit of his love for her. That is what epic-ness will be about.

Right, Anusha, that s me 😳 . And yes, Jalal has been quite consistent in his imperial behaviour mostly . The CV s have been kind enough to atleast not mess up with that side of him & enabling us to see why exactly he was called the Great 😊 .

oops his judgement on certain matters went a bit wonky...yes. 😆 but I always say...big hearts have big flaws. They just do.

edit add: other point about Jodha's romantic notions - if she can find a satisfactory shudh Hindi word to lend some legitimacy to her dream-feelings, then that would make her err...happy.
