Yes, I'm making another separate topic.Today, every bit of it, according to me deserves a special space.
Silent episode are usually boring, but today, despite those very few dialogues, I couldn't take my eyes of the TV.
Coming to the topic,
We had the jalwa (?) scene.
It was such a symbolic scene. 😳
At first, they covered both with the same dupatta, this showed for me that ZaYa are going through the same thing, in other words, covered by the same feelings.
When they looked at each other, I went 'aah.' This was chemistry. I finally got what Mais said in her post. This dil se dil ka connection they have. Them turning at the same time, this was the phenomenal chemistry they had.
Their eyes said what there lips didn't. He saw her, with that betrayal and she saw him with guilt and tear filled eyes. She herself was about to break down as she had spoiled her life (in her own words). That strong Aliya was gone and gone with her was the cheerful Zain. Zain maintained that expression on his face but his eyes said a million words. They were asking Aliya a million questions. Why? Why did she do that. Aliya's tear coming down was the last straw. His eyes softened a bit, confused about her reaction. She had told her father that they agreed, why was she crying. Little did he know, that she dug her own grave.
They lifted the dupatta a bit and kept the mirror inside. This signified that someone will lift the parda up and keep in front of them the truth, or at least try to.
They both tried hard not to look in the mirror but they did. What we, as viewers could see was two people, mirroring each other. Going through the same pain as the other. They looked back and forth again and again and yet, there wasn't a change. Maybe a bit of added confusion but still the same pain. And then Aliya shed a tear once again. Unable to take it anymore, Zain pushes the mirror down and it breaks. He doesn't see the tear but it creates a symbolism.
When the truth is kept in front of them, in some way or the other, as Zain broke the mirror, someone will manipulate the truth or refuse to see it while the other stays back, broken.
They look at each other in the mirror. The broken mirror showing their broken expressions, mirroring their broken souls. Zain can't handle it anymore and he moves out to talk to Rizwan, leaving Aliya alone.
Aliya then looks at the mirror, a tear falling on it. She vows to not let anything hurt her parents and picks up the mirror since a broken mirror is bad luck. This, for me, symbolized that Aliya will hide her pain for her near and dear ones' happiness.
For me, I loved the Jalwa scene more than the Nikaah but that's probably just me. 😆
Not that I didn't like the Nikaah, I loved it <33 But Jalwa scene held a special place in my heart.
