The basic problem with this show is, it makes child marriage look cute. Stop making the rest of us look like people who believe marriage = sex.
Marriage requires emotional competence too, which a 9 year old does not posses.
Almost 90% of the people are objecting to the show from what I've swen both here and on facebook because it makes something that's against the Indian law look cute.

The kargil war was fought with intent, so do we ban movies on that too?

How do you know? It's a fiction and everything is possible in fiction.

Talking about kids, most today have better access to what's online than what's on Hindi TV channel.

Apart from that, fact remains that people will find ways to speak in favor of the shows they like with whatever lame reasons and moral police other shows. It's hypocrisy at it's best. I rest my case.

The responsibility for that lies solely on the kids, and his/her parents. Parents should monitor what kids see online. Before u jump at me saying 'then parents shouldn't let kids watch TV' for most parents, especially in rural areas TV is the only source of entertainment n watching serials. And unlike u n me, those ppl will not debate, they will just sit in front of their TV sets n watch all shows from 7-10.
So being responsible citizens we should protest against stuff that can potentially harm our future generation and against stuff that glorifies crime in the name of entertainment.

And you think that a fictional show on a paid channel is the primary challenge that these people from rural areas need rescuing from? 😆

Oh the mindsets. That's it. I really do rest my case. Peace!

^^ one of the many things that they need rescuing from. Not a primary challenge. I can protest against a 1000 other things AND this. Still doesn't make this 'not worth protesting against'.
Thank you, for resting ur case! 😆

any fictional show doesnt hold any obligation towards anyones kids. Ppl need to learn to handle responsibility of their own kids. dont watch what doesnt suit your taste. how anyone's child turns out is not something a 3rd party will be responsible for. if you cant control your kids than throw the tv out. show didnt end coz of the hue and cry it ended coz creatives preferred ending it instead of taking 10:30 slot.

you can go wild protesting and trying to impose your thoughts on others but there will always be ppl whose beliefs and opinions will be different than yours. deal with it coz nobody is changing their opinion to suit yours.

Don't tell me to deal with different opinions, tell the person I was debating with coz she seems to have taken offense to ppl protesting against this show. And what makes u think I'm imposing my thoughts on others here? I'm stating my opinion as much as u are.

Regarding ur first para, I don't think I need to tell u that children get influenced with what they watch. Sometimes in ways by which even parents don't understand. And ur telling me that the makers/channel/viewers who support the show won't be responsible for it? U must be kidding urself.
'throw ur TV set out?' Really? Why? Are makers paying for the TV Set or subscription to the channel? Nope...we are paying them. And if something is objectionable and cannot be aired at a primetime slot, it cannot be aired and we as customers have every right to object. So I'd suggest u keep this arrogance to urself.

And why are u arguing with me, makers themselves didn't believe their fantastic story could fetch them trps at a 10.30 time slot. That's the reason the show's off air. If they really believed in the concept they would've continued with their original story at the given time slot by running a scroll which said it doesn't support child marriage. It was decent enough. But they didn't. Because this concept itself is weird and nothing so great except for the fact that it can garner negative publicity by glorifying child marriage which is btw a criminal offence.

like someone said i smell hypocrisy. kids get influenced by what they see in ways parents dont understand so technically everything needs to be banned but some pseudo moralists following their amazing logic shut their eyes to shows they go gaga over and target other shows.

anyhow, makers wont be responsible for how a kid turns out. period! its flaw in parenting or in kid himself. plus if parents choose to pay subscription for certain channels than they better learn to deal with whats shown in it. its a free world.

😊

If I may humbly interject, this will go on ping-pong ad nauseam with questionable benefit. However the scope for learning novel ways of dishing out insults is indeed quite credible. 😆

Exactly, it's a free world and we are free to object to content that is objectionable. And yes, u don't think so but I do think that makers would be responsible for showing objectionable content on national television on primetime as it is THEM who are responsible for what they are showing, as much as we are for seeing it. And not sure who u were targeting by the term pseudo moralists here, but if it was me, I have already explained why those other shows didn't receive flak for their content and if I do find something objectionable in it, I will object to it, regardless of anything. Things worth banning on national television need to be voiced out against. Period. By twisting my statements like now, and drawing unnecessary and absurd conclusions I dunno what point ur trying to make. Parents not understanding how something their child is watching is influencing him/her does NOT extrapolate to banning some good and sensible content on Indian TV which deserves to be aired just because u want to defend a show with this regressive n crappy concept.

I understand u love this show, having interacted with u earlier, fair enough. But atleast do not twist my statements to suit ur argument.

a. objecting is one thing asking ban is another. good that bcc didnt oblige to the senseless ban demand by the likes of you.

b. makers are not responsible for what parents let their kids watch

c. showing crime as crime is not a valid justification for shows you are trying to support. By your own words kids get influenced by what they see 'in ways parents dont understand' n that sets things straight. kids can get influenced by crime thats shown in your criminal shows too.

d. dont generalize the word 'regressive'
