As I said, there will be people who will willingly follow what you find 'regressive'. Heck even marriage is a man made institution which is followed by so many. Let's not get into what's 'regressive' and what's 'progressive'. As long as a person follows something by choice, hasn't forced, deceived or acted with intent of inflicting harm on someone, to each his own. You won't dictate it for others. Nobody actually can. It's eventually individual's own choice.

Glorified ahh...ever heard about "my idol will not be the same as yours"? Who will find glorification & inspiration in what will depend on an individual.

If one genuinely has issues they need to protest against showing any type of crimes at all. Start with extreme shows like GOT 😆

I use to watch balika vadhu in that lawyer said that due to child marriage lot of girls suffer and boy leave them and get marry to another girl so there was amendment in law that if after reaching 18 if boy and girl do not nullify their marriage for 2 year then after ,2 year marriage become legal

I haven't watched GOT. So can't comment on that. But none of any other shows that show crime show it as something praiseworthy, or something that makes ppl proud. The ppl perpetuating the crime are villains meant to be punished, not heroes. And here we have Diya committing this crime and she is lauded by her parents for her so called 'sacrifice' and it has been projected as a noble act by the makers. If thats not glorification, I don't know what is.

One thing baffles me though, why are u countering everyone's arguments by bringing in the subjective angle? Not everything is subjective my friend. Some things are what they are. U cannot twist their reality to make it seem subjective n acceptable. By glorifying child marriage, I meant the way makers have presented this whole concept as a cutesy love story. Ratan is being a husband more than a school going kid. Nothing of that is acceptable or can be acceptable to anyone. Period. That's why this show is being pulled off air. Because lakhs of ppl objected to it. Not just one or two. Makers didn't even trust this story to bring ratings when aired at a non primetime slot. So why are u n me arguing about ppl's mindsets here?

Again, who decides what's praiseworthy for whom? Are you sure what you are praising and dissing will be same as what every other person is praising and dissing? The precise reason why I brought in the subjective angle, since everyone here seems to be talking on behalf of millions of people lol. Marriage turned into a hoopla, if it's illegal in the show than why the fuss? They didn't show them having sex- the meaning of marriage that most here derive. Than just deem it as illegal and get on with your shows. Again, you won't decide for million others that what's acceptable to them and what's not. These 'lakhs' of people who objected are not the only ones, millions other didn't pay a heed and millions other supported. The ones who objected however, need to come up with this 'objection' for so many other shows. Their hypocrisy is amusing otherwise... and funny too.

Who are u to decide whether they should object or not? Like u said, what's praiseworthy for some may not be for another. Similarly, if something is objectionable to someone, something isn't. If I find something objectionable, I will protest against it, if I don't I won't. It's as simple as that. Correction, you are talking about selective objection.

Also, crime TO ME is when someone acts with intent of forcing, deceiving, harming, damaging, hurting... GOT is full of it. But I am not going around tweeting, signing petitions against that show because am not moral policing a fiction. And I didn't see anything such 'criminal' thus far in PKP, so I think the moral hypocrites who are after PKP, need to object to GOT before coming to PKP. I THINK! Otherwise TO ME they are hilarious. YEP!

Since you can't seem to stop harping about GoT, it's a show based on war. How do you expect a show without war to exist without harming and damaging? Also GoT has a content warning.

The basic problem with this show is, it makes child marriage look cute. Stop making the rest of us look like people who believe marriage = sex.

Marriage requires emotional competence too, which a 9 year old does not posses.

Almost 90% of the people are objecting to the show from what I've swen both here and on facebook because it makes something that's against the Indian law look cute.

The kargil war was fought with intent, so do we ban movies on that too?

@Khushi child marriage is a crime. Whether they show gory stuff or don't. And a show like GoT is not meant to be watched at primetime with family or kids. Heck, it's not even aired at primetime and some ppl don't even have access to the channel which airs it. A handful of Indians cannot effectively protest against a show that is watched by billions worldwide. But yes, we can surely protest against something that is shown at primetime in our own country by makers of our own country on a channel that belongs to our country and which has a potential to negatively influence children of our country.

If I download GoT n watch, how the show influences me is my responsibility, is my choice. But children as young as 9-10 years of age will inevitably watch the serial along with their moms on TV sets in the country and then if tomorrow they demand for a pari in the form of a girl and want a wife for themselves the responsibility for ruining a child's mindset ultimately lies on the makers n the channel, and us, for allowing and encouraging this nonsense.

I hope it's clear to u now why ppl don't want this show perpetuating crime and glorifying it to be aired at primetime on a channel accessible to all. Still if after watching GoT, I find scenes that are objectionable, il voice that out too...don't worry 😆
