What about what she did to him that day, just when he was asking her to go back to Canada with him? She hurt him and disgraced him very badly, and that too in full public view of all the guests.

Yeah, I remember that. He came there with so much hopes and she turned him down so coldly.
That was such a bad treatment to give to anyone that too in front of so many people.

Jyo & Ash,
Manav did promise that he would be there for Purvi for her good-times and bad-times. But back then the situation was different than it is now. Now when his bad-times are due to that same girl to whom he promised to be there for, then he definitely will not be expected to fulfill his promise.

Ever since Manav came to know about Arjun-Purvi, I don't think Manav has even talked to Purvi properly. If I remember correctly these are encounters they have had:

1. When Sulo is hospitalized, Manav did not talk to Purvi.

2. When Purvi got kidnapped and he went to pay the ransom, he did not talk to her, Arjun was already there with Purvi.

3. During Dahi-Handi she tried to take his blessings, at that time he was being courteous. I should actually not even mention this encounter bcos it was more for Vishnu to get to know that Purvi is Manav's daughter too so that he could later extract ransom out of Manav than anything else. CVs could come up with only that idea at that time!

4. When Arjun was brought to the hospital, Purvi in a panic state pleads Manav to do anything to save him. All he did was try and comfort her as any other person in his place at that time would've done. Here again there was no more conversation.

5. When SP Rane wanted Purvi's statement, Manav calls up Purvi and informs her. After he has given the information, he disconnects the phone, but it is Purvi who wants to continue to talk.

6. Manav sending gift to Purvi on her engagement was more bcos Archana kept pestering (almost begging) Manav telling stories of how Purvi regards him as his baba and all ... As a courtesy he sent a gift. On receiving the gift Purvi calls Manav to thank. All Manav says is Hmmm... as if to say 'All Right' and that is it. Purvi is still crying and expected him to talk more and he doesn't.

So, where in all this is Manav giving wrong signals to Purvi?

As I see it, it is Purvi who is expecting Manav to forgive, forget and be there for her for her happiness. Purvi is happy, but what about Manav? Isn't he hurt by what has happened? Manav doesn't know what really happened between Arjun and Purvi. Should he have known? Arjun came and declared that he loves Purvi, but till date, he hasn't clarified to Manav, Ovi or Archana.

The day Purvi gets slapped by Archana and is walking on the roads, she calls up Arjun and tells him to clarify to Archana that when she fell in love with Arjun, she wasn't aware of anything between Arjun and Ovi. Arjun did not clarify or rather he did not get a chance to clarify that day. But even Purvi hasn't clarified it to either Archana or Manav.
What happened was not a mistake of Arjun or Purvi, but when both of them haven't clarified what really happened, then how can they expect others to forgive them, when those people got hurt due to that?

Now, Arjun got Purvi and Purvi got Arjun. Arjun and Purvi are happy. Even I am happy, but what about Manav who trusted both Purvi and Arjun? After Arjun declared his love, they both had so much of time. If they couldn't tell, they could've have emailed, or even written a letter.

Both Arjun and Purvi in their happiness seem to forget there are other people who are hurt, especially Manav, whom Arjun keeps referring as his idol.
Both Arjun and Purvi haven't committed any mistake, so, there is no need to ask for forgiveness, but atleast clarify and explain what really happened to the other party involved. Instead they seem to be in a bubble of their own and expect everyone to be present for their happy occasion.

If today Manav did not say the words he did, that, "I am here for my daughter Ovi's sake and not for Purvi", he is right and it was good he said so. Otherwise these 2 giddy in love, would be under the false impression that Manav was there for their sake. It was good their bubble was burst.

I do not expect Purvi to sacrifice Arjun for any reason, but when she got what she wanted (Arjun), I expect her to think about other's now, atleast her baba, who accepted her without a single question asked, when he had no reason to do so (Archana had already accepted that it was she who infact sent the divorce papers.). He is the one who is in need. I atleast expect her to be a little sensitive about Manav's grief in all this. If she cannot do that, then atleast she should back off a little and let him grieve and not expect him to forget his sadness and be happy for her, just bcos she is happy.

Jyothi, that is what I said, if arjun and purvi walked in their direction at all - they were walking in the general direction where maayi and lalla were sitting and Purvi might have been looking at either as she was walking towards the courthouse.

Bee, was glad in a way that Manav told off Arjun today. That way Purvi realizes that her baba is not interested in her. All you say is right that Manav has been cold towards Purvi since the Arjun declaring love incident but she has not realized yet that Manav cares not a fig for her. She mistakenly assumes he came to save her for her (I think he did it for Archana's sake), plus he sent her the sari (he should not have). Silly of her or insensible of her to assume that her baba has understood and forgiven - first of her baba does not know that she was not after Arjun, not saying if he did know that it would sway him in Purvi's favor over Ovi. Purvi, of course as Ashalaika has written assumes that her baba loves her as much as she loves him (her mom's doing this belief) so it is good that Manav's true intentions came to light, this way Purvi will be rid of her mistaken assumptions. Totally agree that she needs to be cognizant that this man is not her dad and does and will care for Ovi more than he ever will for her.

Dear Varsha,

I am glad we are on the same wavlength on the Manav-Arjun-Purvi matter.

I also listened carefully to Manav's testimony, and what he says it "Main use sazaa dilvake hi rahoonga', meaning thru his testimony. It is an unexceptionable statement, and there is nothing to object to in it. In fact, in court cases, witnesses often get far more excited and shout things for which they are pulled up by the judge, Manav's was not in this category at all.

As for whom Purvi was looking at, it is difficult to decide going purely by the visual evidence, as they do not show all three together in one shot. I thought it was Vishnu not only because she seemed to be making eye contact only with him, and her expression - which in fact looked like a zombie's and made one wonder what caused it - was totally unchanged even after Varsha covered her face and turned away. It thus seemed that the one she was looking at so fixedly was Vishnu.

Moreover, if she had had even a faint notion that she had seen Varsha before, I would have expected her to speak to Arjun and possibly to Archana also about it. She did no such thing, and displayed no agitation at all except about the proximity of Vishnu and his gang.

Again, if she was curious about Varsha, as soon as they were all inside the court room, she would surely have craned her neck and tried to get a closer look at Varsha. She did not do that either.

This is why I think that logically, it might have been Vishnu. Of course the CVs are allergic to logic, so it probably was neither Vishnu nor Varsha, but a pao bhajiwala doing brisk business, who was never shown on screen!

Jyoti, I thought of the same that purvi was looking at Varsha and walking towards her in her "Hypnotic walk" towards Vishnu-Varsha as they were sitting together..

Dear bee5,

Thanks a lot for setting out in detail, and so comprehensively and clearly, all those instances that bear out what I had written above, that " It is not a question of mixed signals from Manav, Ash, as I have tried to explain above. It is rather a question of Purvi not being able to, or rather not wanting to pick up perfectly clear signals".

@red
. You are spot on here, and I too had repeatedly stressed the need for greater sensitivity on the part of both Arjun and Purvi. They are very nice and truly loveable kids, but they seem to have zero ability to think themselves into Manav's shoes, especially Arjun.

Manav went out on a limb both at the time of the MMS scandal and again when Punni created that scene at the birthday party, to defend them both unquestioningly and very strongly. When the truth came out, he must have felt as though he had been punched in the solar plexus.

As you have noted here, by now, Arjun should have at least tried to explain the sequence of events to Manav, seeing that it was his footdragging (for whatever reasons, mostly ill-considered) that prolonged the impression, especially on the side of Ovi and her family, of a perfectly normal and happy engagement, and made matters that much worse now.

Anyhow, I suppose it will all drag on, and Punni the Plotter and/or Vishnu the Villain will win the next round, leading to our lovebirds going back to the old days of misunderstandings or sacrifice or whatever. Arjun will sigh soulfully as he looks at Aashana's photo, and Purvi will shed plenty of not so photogenic tears (she should take a crash course from Archana on How to Cry Profusely and Still Look Pretty). Plus we will have Aahatein or Hai Rabba back on the soundtrack.

Shyamala dear you never disappoint...😃

From the quick look online (as was unable to see it on TV yesterday)...i had thought it was Varsha that Purvi was looking at and walking towards..but you very logically and supplemented with facts- especially that she did not turn around in court to take a peek (back) at her, if that were what she were trying to do ...present a very logical argument that it was not Varsha...but Vishnu Lalla that she was walking towards...or that pav bhaji wala...🤣
I do like bad boy Vishnu's acting and he is doing full justice to his role 😉, so in agreement with Laurie here...
I do hope that they give us better scenes of Arjun Purvi rather than the mundane, car conversations, filmed from the backseat...
Shyamala, only 2 more days, isn't it? 😉😳😃

Varsha and Shyamala,

I will jump into your conversation (can't quote, as quote button not working) and say that Ekta is trying to pull a 'sixth sense' kind of relationship between Purvi and Vishnu, which to me is that Ekta is as usual overdoing her 'unique relationship' anglel. Pardon me for saying this aloud, Purvi and Vishnu doesn't share a 'blood relationship' so this 'unique bond' from birth and common mother angle doesn't works for me. I can see if it happens between Ovi/Teju and Vishnu or Archana/Vishu, but can't see this happening Purvi and Vishnu, even if Archana loves Purvi more than her own kids...the sixth sense through common mother (connection of the placentas, if you know what I mean) can't be explained for Purvi/Vishnu...My opinion of what it is worth...

Kalapi I totally agree with you & your opinion is worth a million to MOI 😉😆 Seriously I agree wi u that there is no connection between Purvi & Vishnu that EK and her genius CVs are trying to show... 😳
2 things I agreed on this topic was with Shyamala and Bee5 is Arjun-Purvi needs to have sense and sensibility towards Manav as Ovi's Father...he did everything when Purvi was kidnapped instead of Ovi...Put himself at risk and shelled out money..As he felt responsible for Purvi's kidnapping..Manav has not given mix signals since Arjun breaking off engagement with Ovi and falling for Purvi...Actually he yet has not broken off the engagement officially...he just declared his love for Purvi to Manav..Prior to Arjun-Purvi love declaration he was treating Purvi with some affection or should I say cordially...
Though I am glad Manav has made it clear to Archana, Arjun & Purvi that he is @ the court for his daughter "OVI"...I dont think he even took Purvi's name...But the message from him was loud and clear...👏
Arjun-Purvi and to some extent Archana too are trying too hard to shove this relationship down Manav's throat too soon...he has to take care of Ovi situation at hand..She needs to face reality where he is the one who can empathize with her abt the loss but help her face reality to move on...
Another thing I agree with Jyoti was I felt purvi was walking towards Varsha where Her and Vishnu were sitting..I still cant digest 18 and 21 yrs old are getting married...There is not much age difference between Ovi-Teju and Arjun...I think he was 2 when they were born and Purvi is abt a yr younger to Ovi-Teju..And a wedding in a hurry...I sound like "Curry in a hurry" LOL
