Zaira Wasim, the young actress who won hearts with her performance as Geeta Phogat in Dangal, has announced her marriage. The former Bollywood star, who made history with her debut at just 16 years old, shared the news on social media with two simple pictures. One showed her signing the nikaah papers, and the other captured a moment with her husband, although both their faces remained unseen. She captioned the post, “Qubool hai x3.”

Zaira first came into the spotlight with her role in Dangal, which released in 2016 and went on to earn over Rs 2,100 crore worldwide. Following her success, she collaborated again with Aamir Khan in Secret Superstar (2017), further cementing her place as a talented young actress. Before her Bollywood debut, she had appeared in commercials for Microsoft and Tata Sky.

Despite early success, Zaira chose to step away from the industry. In 2019, she announced her decision to quit acting, citing conflicts between her career and her religious beliefs. She explained, “This field indeed brought a lot of love, support, and applause my way, but it also led me to a path of ignorance, as I silently and unconsciously transitioned out of ‘imaan’ (faith). My relationship with my religion was threatened.”

Her final appearance on the big screen was in The Sky Is Pink, after which she maintained a low public profile. Since leaving films, Zaira has focused on her personal life, her faith, and staying away from the public eye.
