No you haven't. 😊This thread is the Rishtedaar of the Week, and every week, we give a special member this honour and ask all questions that we would like to ask her/him.

Since Kools has knowledge of culture, epics and is one of the elder members of the forum, so some people are asking her questions about Mahabharata, epics, values and on life in general, and she is replying to them, as you can see. Needless to say, everyone is enjoying it.😊

fab Kool, yr take on Mahabharata is brilliant, esp the one on Karna, ( he's my fav too) wish someone made a film on Karna, 😃

Me too .😊 The whole of Eastern Bihar , Jharkhand and part Of Nepal came under Anga , which Karna ruled . The South of Bihar ...Magadha was ruled by Jarasandha. There is a temple there , dedicated to him as there is a temple dedicated to Lakshman who stayed for a considerable time in the South of India and performed excellent administrative work when Ram sent him to The South to solve administrative problems .

He was extremely disciplined . It was his habit to stand waist deep in water and offer oblations to the sun every day at sunrise . It was part of his spiritual discipline . One took water in palms and offered it in the direction of the sun . It was his rule never to refuse anyone anything if one asked him anything at this hour . After offering water in direction of sun he would ask IS ANYONE THERE ? Without looking behind .

[ This rule as ...If one looked behind and saw the face of the person , one would perhaps FEEL momentarily like REFUSING if personal enemity was there }

If anyone said YES , without looking behind he would ask ...WHAT DO U WANT FROM ME

And if the other person told ...Wealth , A horse , A position , a job ...ANYTHING , Karna wud give it to him . He would SAY

GIVEN .

This was his daily morning spiritual discipline ...in which he had disciplined himself NEVER to look at the face of the person ASKING the DAAN , so that He wud not even for a moment regret GIVING It . The moment regret comes in the mind when u donate something , its not regarded as PURE DAAN .

Arjun's biological father , Indra has taken advantage exactly of this Morning discipline . He asked for Karna's Kavach Kundals to safeguard his own son .

Without looking Back Karna has replied GIVEN . Actually he KNEW who was behind . He ALSO knew the purpose . His rival's father , safeguarding his rival and weakening HIM . Surya , Karna's father had WARNED him of Indra 's attempt . They all knew how they functioned when WAR was on .

Karna had told Surya , I cannot break my Spiritual discipline . Let him come .

Later he told Indra , after coming out of the waters , I felt Bad that you felt compelled to disguise yourself for fear that I would REFUSE u .

his answer evoked so much admiration from Indra that he told him , Much as I did what i HAD to do ...protect MY son , I cannot let this noble act of yours go unrewarded or unblessed . You can have my Vajra Shakti for ONE DAY .

Duryodhan may be many things . But he had an EYE for picking up gems .

Karna annexed many kingdoms and increased the boundaries of Duryodhan's Kingdom when Pandavs were Banished and when Duryodhan ruled while Drithrashtra was king only in namesake . The boundaries of The Kauravas reached the heights under the Duryodhan Karna combination. Winning fierce wars , Karna annexed kingdoms right upto Kazakhstan for Duryodhan .

The administration of Karna andDuryodhan was EXCELLENT . { Not many know this but Duryodhan Was an excellent King and ruled fairly with an iron hand . He thought in interests of his subjects }

Krishna himself commented in the war when Karna shot a volley of Arrows and forced Arjuna's chariot to go eleven [ units of those time] back , on the excellence oF Karna as a warrior . Arjuna was miffed at the praise . But Krishna said

Look at him . Stripped of every divine weapon , curses on his head , he did this due to sheer excellence as a warrior

You have my divine protection and Hanuman on your chariot . Or else this chariot would have been thrown out of the bounds of this war zone , so powerful were his arrows . Appreciate your foe , Arjun .

When he had difficulty dying [ His prana wud not leave his body } Krishna blessed him and commanded his spirit to leave the body .

Later he freed his spirit by commanding Yudhistir to offer it oblation and give it recognition that it craved for all his life by doing Pinda Daan ...which is only done to members of FAMILY

Duryodhan wept a lot when Karna died . He lost interest in the war after Karna's death and he told this to Ashwathama . Infact , It was Ashwathama who carried forward the war after Duryodhan became withdrawn later . After Karna's death , Duryodhan made Salya , King of Madras , Commander of the army . But his spirit was shaken .

Kool have u watched the movie Choker Bali ? my mom has read the book and she said the book is way better then the movie (which is always the case 😆).

The movie is hopeless . Nothing can do the book justice .Chokher Bali has to be READ .

As Niki mentioned each week a member is appreciated for their knowledge and involvement in PR section. If you are active and involved memebr you may get a chance to do your own satsang and we would be happy to get involved. 😃

I am the one who asked Kools Q on Mahabharata and that is my one Q to all MOTW, ROTW in different section b/c I want to know their take on it.

I am hoping and going to ignore your comment thinking it was in joking manner...

Really admire your writings. I did ,I do and I will. Always, whenever I read your posts on such important topics, it looks like as if you have a done a thesis on that subject .

Especially on the epics and when it is on cultural basis, you always rock.
