If you are a middle class woman and you raise your voice you are considered obnoxious. This is exactly what is being portrayed in this serial. Ekta always says that she makes serial for the ordinary people and this is what the ordinary people want to see, I guess. Its true...this is wht ordinary people want to see n surprisingly a lot many people actually idolise characters like Archana...she has good qualities but people idolise her for wht she tolerates...Archana with her weaknesses is lot more profitable to the BT stable than Varsha with her guts....high TRPs indicate this. As a woman ,I dont want Archana to be my example but on a personal level,I love her for her basic goodness, loving and caring nature

there are lots of things about Archana that i would love to follow as an example . For one , how to take care of your special relations .... how not to over react to situations and deal with issues with a cool and a calm head .
Also it would be nice ( though impractical ) to expect good in people and believe that generally people are good and they do mean well .
What I would never follow from her ass an example is the show of low self seteem she does when her saas abuses her .... to keep on loving a man this deperately even though he is totally make a mess of his life and your life ... again low self esteem.
She needs education to work on her low self esteem ...

What I feel is Archana is wrong from a woman's perspective but she's right from a lover's perspective...she sets a good example as a lover.Subconsciously, she's actually fighting for the love of her life, who means everything to her...she knows exactly wht n how Manav feels, thinks or reacts...she understands him completely...so in her own way she's winning him back.
Had she behaved like varshu n asserted her right,Manav ,the way he is wudnt hav softened his stand towards her n wudnt hav start fallin for her all over again....slowly but steadily, archu the lover, has achieved wht no one cud hav thot of...Manav's hatred n anger is getting replaced by love n concern
I wud like to think since its supposed to b a love story, the CRs r showin us example of unconditional love.

I think we all agreed long back that Archana's incredibly long suffering character has to do with TRPs and the profit motive, and that she's a really dangerous exemplar for Indian womanhood. Even in a chawl. Savita's loud-mouthed self-protective instincts and aggressiveness are a lot more wholesome in some ways, though of course, a channel like Zee (which hobnobs so closely with that milk-and-water Barjatya/Rajshri production house; see them cozying up on the Rishtey Awards Nite?) can only portray Savita as a villain. The one encouraging thing, though, is that the serial does offer a foil to the Manav-Archana relationship: Satish defends Varsha to his mother and Varsha tells Ajit off as best she can given the circumstances. Here also are two people we can call moral beings, but two sensible, independent, and articulate people who bid fair to make a marriage that's based on recognition and understanding of each other's needs in a contemporary sense, rather than through the kind of mythic/epic self-sacrifice that bonds Manav and Archana. In a way then, the serial presents two versions of the ideal marriage: the modern one, that we are implicitly all encouraged to emulate, given that it shows more chances of success than heartbreak, and the traditional one that is formally paid lipservice to, but that nobody in the audience would want to, indeed can actually be party to.

You are right GM, manav's love has made her crazy ...... she doesn't think beyond him and I can now see why it is becoimg frustrating for every one . I mean if so many people are saying the same thing then of course there must be truth to it ...😡

Why is Archana great in this show, coz she has some qualities that ordinary woman don't have (some woman woouldn't want to have). I'm not justifying Archana's way of taking injustice and not speaking for herself but there are other qualities that makes her good example, why ignore that.
We like Varsha's character coz most of us can identify with her, theres nothing great abt such qualities, if most of us have those qualities. Same goes for Shravani, nothing great abt her.
Is Archana good example for
1) Daughter - Yes, everybody should agree there
2) Sister - Yes. She is such a good sister to Vinod, she thinks of her brother and that is stopping her from taking action againt Ajit/Manju
3) Wife - Yes, I need not explain that
4) Sister-in-law - Yes
5) Daughter-in-law - Yes
5) self-respecting woman - NO

I would rather like Varsha to be en example for me than Archana.
But there are people who wud love to b like Archana...whether Archana is an example solely depends on the viewer's perspective...wht I mean is when someone wants to be like Archana it will not matter to them whether Archana is the lead or the side-actor...the same goes for Varsha....I believe wht is bad example for us is definitely good for lot many out thr for whom the BT CRs r creating such characters.
There are qualities tht make Archana a good example as well as those tht make her a bad one...your choice completely.

My thoughts exactly.

Gauri, that is what I am talking about... People like you and me will like Archana for few things but understand to never behave like her..
But what about the uneducated chawl ladies... Poor maried girls who relate to Archana as they face these situations everyday in their life. The creatives should show that strength in Archana, where she can stay in her sasural but with her own conditions... She should have some self respect.. I agree with Koolsadhu, Archana is the best example of how not to behave...

i disagree to that...i think archana is a very good example to some extent that regardless of how badly she been treated by her saas she tolerates that even if it hurts her..ur sasra r ur mum n dad practically n they r bhagwan so thats y she respects them maybe she hopes that some day her saas will realise...and think that day will come soon because already savita seems to be reluctant on the way shravni is turning out to be...

I don't think Archana is completely wrong right now. She made the mistake of not trusting Manav....which is why she feels guilty and accepts everything that is going on. She has no other choice....she lost her rights when that happened. HOWEVER, she DEFINITELY should have stood up against Savita in the past episodes before the framing nonsense happened. I remember that she used to treat Archana wrongly, and she definitely should have stood up for herself or at least tell Manav. I agree with some of you...I do like Versha's character NOW, but she also needs to learnt to be a little bit more respectful.
