Honestly I feel the damage is already done.

Especially when the writer and the actor screaming that audience will feel bad for ammar's ending. I am shocked that they are so comfortable saying that. Like imagine anyone infront us saying we will feel bad for nirbhaya culprit's end. How does it sound?

Ammar getting more sympathy than maheen, nashwa, burhan, bisma.

Like recent episode comment section filled with sympathy for only ammar.

Isn't it what writer wanted to achieve? Is this the reason why ammar got many humanizing scenes where he appears as victim not as a rape enabler.

I see no redemption for this. No matter the end. It will only work in ammar's character favour.

Nashwa can't be redeemed even if she punishes ammar after her "I will fix him" speech. Sad part is she actually meant every word she said about him. Her defending dialogues made me understand why she never felt disgust towards him despite knowing what he did. It's not because she is helpless like everyone said, it's because she thinks him as broken soul whose actions is just a reaction.

M so glad, people are calling out these problematic traits in a show rather than defending it just because of the presence of their favourites.

If this is anywhere related to author's story like she claims, shouldn't she be more aggressive towards ammar as a character?

How can she even sympathize with someone like ammar when she already had a first hand experience in real life?

I m amazed at her thought process.

The reason i did not like shehr e zaat and dil e muzdaar because there female leads went back to their cheater husbands. I mean whyyyyy.

Going back to the cheater is bad but going back to a rapist is unheard of.

I am telling you that the whitewashing has been happening since the very beginning. I am the one who missed it. What's wrong with the writer?

Amaar is getting more importance than Burhan

After defending ammar, nashwa also has a dialogue burhan's life always been easy. He saw his parents getting killed infront of him. Had tough childhood. Just because his life isn't hard as hers, it doesn't mean he had it everything easy. But writer wants to show only ammar had tough life.

Just saw the post where yumna zaidi also promoting her pair with nameer khan. I don't know what to say. The only answer I will get is they have chemistry so it doesn't matter even if the man is a rapist.

@bold, that Nameer and not Amaar. So that's fine.

Writer is in love with Amaar the rapist, Sara screentime uska. Burhan ko side character waley importance nahi mil rahey

Amazing episode today. Idk but this show is literally making me so invested - tonnes more than I had planned to be given how it started off. And scenes which I DON’T expect to surprise me, do? Naturally the emotion comes and idk I guess it’s the power of good story telling.

For example, the core and heart of the show being Nashwa and Bisma’s parallels. The constant reminders of Behzad and Ammar. The journey of mother and daughter being the same but not quite. It just pulls at your heart strings. Like I know this is the weak phase for Nashwa and eventually she’ll fight and come out of this situation BUT for now the mother and daughter scenes are literally making me cry buckets. Forget Ammar and Burhan, the real love story is between these two women. The way Nashwa loves her mom and sacrificed herself for her. And is now trying to appease her and herself both about this decision. It’s heartbreaking. You see the forced denial, the way her face scrunches up in Ammar’s room, her absolute disinterest in the wedding. She’s so so different now. Her words are saying one thing but her eyes and expressions say something completely different. I think this is Yumna’s finest performance and no other actor could have managed to hit the complicated nuances this well. It’s not easy to pull off multiple emotions especially when Nashwa is trying to convince her mother of her decision. But as the audience you see her conflict so so clearly. It’s almost like she’s fooling herself, you know? To make this transition easier. Splendidly done!

Then coming to the Ammar and Sidra scene. Ammar, despite being a criminal and who will likely end up in jail/dead by the end of this show, is SUCH an intriguing character. I think this is the scene where he’s talking about marriage with his mother that finally sold Nameer to me as a good actor. His role is so layered and you see so many shades of Ammar. The reluctant affection he has for his mother was yet another layer to him. He’s annoyed, he’s frustrated, but you see that his heart breaks for his mother a bit. And this is why you are also intrigued with the Nashwa Ammar dynamic DESPITE your heart simultaneously breaking for Burhan and Nashwa. You’re able to tolerate the hurt because it’s not like Ammar Nashwa aren’t interesting … they are. You want to see that clash. You are curious to see if Ammar will reveal more layers. There is a mystery intrigue factor there for sure. I’ve seen SO many shows where the second and third lead stories don’t interest you and you skip. But here you don’t want to because each dynamic and scene serves so WELL. The dialogues are so rich, the scenes so well crafted and framed. You’re interested in everything and everyone.

And then at the very end, just when your heart begins to soften a wee bit for Ammar, the writer reminds you that no, he’s still very much an a*****e, he’s being a total jerk to Nashwa in the promo. JUST because you see a sentimental side to him with his mother doesn’t erase his core personality. So the feeling of doom and disturbing element to their dynamic stays. Idk if it’s the writing or direction but it’s cleverly done.
