Can't wait to see your lovely pictures of mouth watering dishs. 😊

Giri, Thayir semiya..mmm yumm. This is one of my favorite too. SO easy to make and very tasty. I do almost the same as of your recipe except I do not add coconut and Cashews! Will try with these once for a change. 😃

I see some custard dishes being discussed here. I love it, just don't know how or where to use it. Does any one have a recipe for fruit salad which can be prepared with canned or fresh fruits, where I can use custard?

I think I've tasted something with fruits and custard before, but don't know how to make it. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Caryn Dear,

Thanks for taking the time to prepare an index for recipes. Earlier, Kavitha and I discussed this over PM and I suggested a couple of things to her. Hopefully, we can go with the simplest option.

I see your first post on this thread is on Page 3 only. So, I believe that is where you can post the index. Click the "Edit" button on your post where you have "Spicy fried rice with sardine" and you can copy, paste your index of recipes there, like in the format below. Quite simple, isn't it?
If you think it is OK, you can cut and paste the fried rice recipe and make it a separate post, so it won't be along with the index.

I think your format is something like this?

Chocolate Cheese Cake - Pg.1
Spicy Chicken - Pg.1
Chicken Redang - Pg.2
Potatoes in Tomato Sauce - Pg.3
Spicy Fried Rice with Sardine - Pg.3

And then keep adding all the other recipes to this list. The only issue here is, the index will not be on the first page, b'cos your post is on pg.3. I see Pat, Kavitha and others with posts on the first page. May be, one of those with post on the first page can copy your list and post it there..? just a thought..

Anyway, it will become the person's (whoever is posting this) responsibility to keep tracking and adding new recipes to this list/index as users keep posting more and more recipes. But in the end, that person would have done a great job!

A tip for space conservation is to use a smaller font size. I think, you know it already, but in case you haven't noticed: In the top boxes above the space, where you are editing you see two drop downs - Font Type and Font Size - if you pick a smaller font, you should get more area to type. But this is only something extra if you feel like trying and not a necessity.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope it is simple enough. Sorry, if it's not 😉

Wonderful Sue. Thanks very much for getting back so quickly with this yummy recipe 😊

When I add the fruits with juice, do I stir it in the custard, as in, mixing it well with the custard? Will the end product look like fruits in some kind of heavy creamy thing?

In your measurement, you asked to add 1/2 a tin of Libby's fruit cocktail - can you also please tell me what's the tin size in Oz or grams?
Thanks again!

Jenim - there are two sizes - big tin and a smaller one - I think it must be 400 gms and 250gm (not sure pls check) - I take the bigger tin coz I like lots of fruits. Yes you add the fruits plus the juice into the cold custard gently mixing it and then refrigerate it. If you add some Ideal milk while boiling the 3 cups of milk it gives a pleasant taste too.

I am going to bed now coz its 1am and am so sleepy...bye and take care...

Hi giri & others, one other thing I add in the 'Thayir semiya' which really adds to the taste of the dish - MorMillagai. After posting my reply this morning , it just came to my mind (while I was thinking about the wonderful curd dish.. 😃 heee hhee..)

When you say "Bake for 5 minutes in the Microwave", do you mean keep it in MW for 5 mins? Will that actually bake the cake?

Yep. You place the bowl in the Microwave uncovered and press the cooking time to 5 mins and Press 'start'.

IT does cook/bake the cake surprisingly! 😊
