Cocktail 2 buzz peaks as Kriti Sanon’s clandestine look emerges, Rashmika Mandanna drops sly note for Shahid

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna have officially kicked off work on Cocktail 2, one of the most awaited sequels in recent years. Shahid confirmed the news with a selfie on Instagram, captioned, “New Beginnings!!! Cocktail 2”, while tagging his co-stars Kriti and Rashmika.

Rashmika also added her touch of humour by posting a picture of herself with the caption, “gand where you at”, tagging both Shahid and Kriti. Their posts, along with a string of behind-the-scenes glimpses, have sparked curiosity around the project.

The sequel is being produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan. Though the plot is under wraps, the makers are eyeing a theatrical release in late 2026. The film marks another collaboration between director Homi Adajania and producer Dinesh Vijan, whose original Cocktail (2012), starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, left a lasting mark with its modern take on friendship and romance.

Adding to the anticipation, Homi’s wife Anaita Shroff Adajania recently posted a glimpse of the Cocktail 2 script along with Kriti Sanon’s new look on her Instagram story. Later, Homi teased fans by sharing a monochrome shot of Kriti with the caption “Work In Progress”, confirming her as the female lead. Kriti re-shared the post, writing, “This is gonna be a liberating journey…I can feel it..”

Meanwhile, the cast continues to balance multiple projects. Kriti has wrapped Tere Ishk Mein opposite Dhanush and is reportedly in talks for Don 3. Shahid is shooting a period drama with Triptii Dimri and Randeep Hooda, while Rashmika has a busy slate including Mysaa, The Girlfriend, Thama, and Animal Park.

Shahid, who sported a clean-shaven look for the sequel, also shared another update captioned, “Of dinners and sinners. #Cocktail2”. Kriti quickly responded with a lighthearted quip: “Dinners you’re loving cos you get to eat more when your actor is on a diet! God is watching! #Cocktail2”.

With filming now underway, Cocktail 2 is steadily becoming one of the most talked-about films of 2026. While the storyline remains tightly guarded, the fresh pairing of Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika promises a new chapter for the franchise that blends glamour, drama, and emotional complexity.
