Did Karishma deserve the best actress award for Raja Hindustani?

I was watching this insipid movie yesterday and wondered how Karishma won an award for her over the top performance. She was annoying and not deserving of anything. Same goes for Aamir.

But movies back then look tacky now.

What do you think?
P.S. I am glad Miss Rai didn't do this movie now that I watched it

Raja Hindusthani didn't age well & rightfully so.

I just checked the nominees & literally everyone was better than her. Oh well 🤷🤷

More than award, it was a box office success. Both Aamir and Karishma would have been happier with that at that time.

Karisma deserved best actress award like any other heroine of the most successful movie in a year. Mostly Filmfare best actress award is for the most popular movie and its heroine. There is critics award for the most deserved actress.
