CHAPTER 9

deepa insisted on treating kailash to ice-cream after she was done with her hair styling. "now we have to do one last thing." kailash told her with a smile. they both had eaten so much of ice-cream & laughed so much that their tummies hurt terribly. "what are you talking about?" deepa questioned kailash in between peals of laughter. "oh nothing much. we just have to change your glasses." kailash observed deepa from head to toe.

kailash made deepa try on many types of contact lenses. at last, he settled on a pair of dark brown contacts. he broke deepa's glasses into two. "why did you break my glasses???" she screamed in protest. "to make you look better." kailash answered a matter of factly. he handed the contacts to deepa & she took it without a word. kailash also made her wear the maroon dress as well.

"wow!" was all he could manage when he saw deepa in her full ensemble. the maroon dress, her sleek & straight hair, light makeup, contact lenses & her heels made her look like a totally different person. a complete stranger. a totally ATTRACTIVE stranger.😳😳

deepa was an unblemished beauty, she didn't need oodles of makeup to look good. she was pretty naturally & kailash had just successfully brought it out. "let me go change. you have got a good look at me right?" deepa turned towards the dressing room. "no! don't change!" kailash yelled a little too enthusiastically.😆😆 deepa shot him a curious look but didn't pursue the matter any further.

"thank you kailash. really! I am really grateful to you!" deepa thanked him sweetly as he walked her back home. "it's okay. anything for you." he smiled at her, not being able to take his eyes off her. deepa suddenly reached up and kissed kailash lightly on the cheek. she smiled softly & went into the house. no matter how much he tried kailash couldn't deny how fast his heart was racing at that time.😳😳

CHAPTER 10

"I'm ready. why are you taking so long deepa??" kailash shouted up the stairs. "I'm coming! I'm coming! don't shout!" deepa yelled back at him. kailash was surprised at how long women took to get ready for parties. his mum also took an awfully long time to get ready making his dad impatient as well. mentally willing deepa to hurry in his mind, kailash hoped he won't be late for the party. ajay was particular about punctuality. kailash was the only photographer for the function.

"deepa! will you just…." kailash stopped short upon seeing her descend the stairs. deepa was looking stunning in the black dress. kailash had made her buy another dress like the maroon one. and he was happy that he did because deepa suited the dress perfectly. other than the dress, she had a pair of classy silver hoops & some light makup. with these 3 things alone, she already looked gorgeous. "hello?? kailash?? what happened?" deepa waved a hand in front of his face. "oh sorry. let's go." kailash apologised, colouring slightly.

since kailash was the photographer of the party, he had to go through the back door. the guard had refused to let deepa in till kailash told him that she was his girlfriend. "thanks for getting me in here." deepa thanked him softly. kailash was about to reply when he saw deepa's gaze fixed on something or someone. he turned to find ajay entering the party looking suave in a sleek black suit. despite himself yet again, kailash wished that it was him deepa was looking at. a pang of jealousy reared it's head in kailash's heart.
