Hey! Nice concept. The only thing I don't like currently going on in the show is how they have completely changed an inspiring character into an obbsessive wierdo. Happy it's not so here. Good to see you thought of someone for Viraj. Loving NiBir but Nisha is acting stupid frankly. Can you shake some sense into her?
Very well written. Fabulous job

I never understood why Viraj had to be turned into an obsessive psycho to justify Nibir. If Nibir were meant to fall in love, they can fall in love on their own, why do they need a third person who is delusional in between them? I always felt the Nisha acts weirdly when it comes to matters of the heart. She will surely learn that what she is doing is wrong. Why can't Nibir have their own space and love, and why can't Viraj have his own space and love. Thank you for liking this scenario.

Part 7

Nisha was softly humming her favorite tune and dancing in her bathroom while she was thinking about all the love and attention she was getting from her husband, Kabir. How considerate and caring he had been when he came to know that she had sprained her ankle. He had called her up two times to enquire how she was. Though at one corner of her mind, she was feeling very bad and guilty that she was lying to him, yet she could not help basking in his love and care. She just wanted him to say NO' to the divorce on his own. She could not bring herself to confess to him at this point of time that she had just asked for it out of her ego and did not really mean it.

Nisha saw today how much he still cared for her. He would not leave her and go if he felt that she was in pain and needed him badly. Her thoughts went back to that day two months after their contract marriage. She was alone at home. Kabir had stayed back at the warehouse for that night as he had a lot of work to do.

The electricity went off and the darkness brought back memories of that Pilani Sports Meet. She began stumbling; searching around for the candle but her hands and legs would just not listen to the commands of her brain. A sudden shot of pain erupted in her head. She slumped down where she was tightly clutching her head which seemed as though it would break into a thousand pieces. She was having problems in breathing properly.

Nisha had never been alone like this before. She always had her family and cousins who would stay with her in such times when she was feeling unequal to handle any situation. She dragged herself to one corner of their room and literally squatted on the floor, shivering uncontrollably from head to toe. She was tightly hugging the teddy bear Kabir had brought for her the previous day as a gift close to her chest as though it was Kabir himself. Soon she lost consciousness of herself.

Kabir found her in this state in the morning when he came home. He became desperate when he saw her so weak and helpless. He had always seen the strong Nisha, the talkative Nisha, the bubbly Nisha, the Nisha who fought with him day and night, the Nisha who brought the smile to his lips, the Nisha who brought the pout on his face with her irritating antics, but never the Nisha who brought the lines of worry on his forehead.

Kabir felt responsible for this state of hers. If just this one night away from her, had reduced her to this condition, then what about her condition when he would go away forever from her life after their contract was over? At that instant his London School of Dance dream started fading before his eyes, while he started seeing the reality of his future life with Nisha concretely. He never ever wanted to leave her and go. At the time when both he and Nisha made the contract, neither of them knew what they were getting into. They just could not go their respective ways after three months as if they did not know each other. At least he could not do that.

When Nisha regained consciousness, all she saw before her eyes was Kabir crying like a small child, asking her to wake up and telling her in between his tears that he would never leave her and go, and that he would always be with her whether she wanted it or not. At that time, he was still not very sure if she loved him back or if she still cared for Viraj Singh Rathore. But as far as he was concerned, he knew that nobody could take her place in his heart.

Kabir hugged her tightly in his arms as if he had gained the most precious treasure in this world, his Nisha. Yes! He was saying the same words over and over, "My Nisha! ...My darling!...My dearest wifey!...You're mine!... I'll not leave you even for a second!" He just could not control his happiness when she regained consciousness and began kissing her all over her face.

Kabir wiped her tears with his own hands. He gently helped her to stand up. Kabir dropped down on his knees and kissed his own hands to his forehead thanking God that he gave back his Nisha safe and sound. He suddenly clasped her waist tightly from his kneeling down position as he let his tears flow down. She made him rise slowly and gave him a weak punch on his head telling, "Here, your Nisha is Ok and back. Now don't behave like a small child."

Nisha knew that she was not doing the right thing but she saw no way out of her predicament. She just wanted her hubby, Kabir along with her. It didn't matter to her if she was trying to win him back the right way or the wrong way. All that mattered to her now was they both were separated from each other due to a silly misunderstanding, her marriage was on the threshold of divorce, a third person (Ahaana) was trying to come between her relationship with Kabir, and she herself was powerless to prevent it because her ego would not allow her to accept her mistakes.

Why didn't Kabir understand her state of mind now? Even when the mistake was hers, during those beautiful contract marriage days, he would apologize so that she would feel happy. Then what happened now? Why wasn't he telling SORRY' when both of them were equally to blame now? If he was expecting that she would come to him on her own and accept that she was wrong, he was mistaken! An idea stuck her like lightening. She knew that it was not fair, but as they say Everything is fair in love and war'.

Day 5:

Morning 10.30 A.M. at LA

When Kabir entered the room he shared along with Nisha, he found her shivering and holding her head tightly. He was becoming very concerned and anxious for her. She collapsed where she was standing. She was muttering within her breath to herself, "I saw him today...It was the same boy...He had a tattoo on his left arm..." Kabir was shocked. He realized that she was having a panic attack as she had met somebody from her past or somebody who reminded her of her past.

Kabir caught hold of her tightly in his arms and was about to console her when he observed her change in expression in the mirror opposite both of them. She was smiling away with a victorious expression on her face as if she had won a battle or something of that sort. So she was actually faking the entire thing now to gain his sympathy and attention. How low could one stoop about a serious issue like this?

He freed himself from her arms and started clapping his hands saying, "Excellent acting Mrs. Nisha Kabir Kumar! So if you're done for the day, will you excuse me, please!" and just stormed off from that room in silence leaving behind a distraught Nisha who knew that she was at fault but could not bring herself to accept it. She was doing all this only for him, if only he would understand. Doing all this, she had truly lost him. Could he ever bring himself to love and trust a Jhalli girl like her again?

Evening 6.00 P.M. at the Talent Search

The event was on in full swing. The chief guests had arrived and though she hated to acknowledge it, Ahaana had organized the entire event perfectly. Viraj and Ahaana were too busy to observe her while Kabir was studiously avoiding her. She sat in a corner as the tears continued flowing down her eyes unstoppably. It seemed as though someone was wringing her whole soul.

Midway through the event, Kabir gave her a cutting look and stormed off from the venue. She did not know how she sat through the entire ordeal. Now it was her turn to come to the stage and give her speech. She just blanked out as she stood before the audience.

The Nisha who always spoke nonstop found herself without a single word to share with her audience today. Where was her confidence? Kabir had taken it along with him. Her eyes were searching for that one loved face in the entire audience but in vain. Viraj and Ahaana observed that she was not well and excused on her behalf. They continued with the rest of the program on their own without bothering her about anything.

It was then that she saw him. She just could not make a mistake in recognizing any of those faces that had tormented her in her dreams and nightmares for years and years. These were the people who had changed her life once and forever. If that incident had not happened she wouldn't have had so many problems in her life. The root of all her insecurity, her inability to love, to communicate, to let go of herself, all lay in this one dreadful experience of her life.

Nisha started dialing Kabir's number with her trembling hands. The ring died down after it had rung its full course. She was getting very impatient now. She called him again and again five more times until she dolefully thrust the phone into her bag. She realized that he was just not going to take any of her calls come what may. She felt so horrible that the love of her life had deserted her when she was at her weakest.

But she barely managed to control herself and pick up the fragments of her wavering courage and self-esteem as she went forward to confront the perpetrator of that outrage on her. He was just smiling away while she had literally been broken and torn apart by that one deed of his and his friends. She had suffered innumerable agonies; all for no fault of hers. There were times when she hated herself for being beautiful, for being a girl. It was another story that Viraj helped her get over her past, while Kabir taught her to love herself as she was.

As he was going outside the stadium, Nisha caught hold of him and shouted incoherently in bursts and starts, "Why did you...at the Pilani Sports Meet...nine years ago...you creep...you ba***rd...I lived in a shell...I cursed myself for no fault of mine...there were times I just wanted to die...I hated my womanhood...just because of you...and your friends...remember Nisha...Nisha Gangwal..."

He realized only then what that mad girl in front of him was talking. He pushed her aside and ran. But Nisha gathered her last bit of courage and clung to his legs with a vice-like grip to prevent him from escaping at least this time. She was young and immature at the time this incident happened. She had been silenced by her teacher's wrong advice and the fear of the society and let it go at that time. But not today!

He tried to stamp Nisha out of his way and run from there but she was very determined. She was ready to fight against him to the last drop of her blood. He ruthlessly kicked her out of his way as her head hit against the wall. She gave a blood-curdling cry as she began losing her consciousness little by little. She was bleeding profusely. She was unable to keep her eyes open.

A hundred different voices were buzzing all around her. The last voice that registered in her brain was that of her friend, philosopher and guide, Viraj Singh Rathore angrily thrashing someone almost to his death, while Ahaana was crying and crying, and slapping her at regular intervals just to keep her awake until the arrival of the ambulance.

The police were taking away her tormentor while he was shouting at the top of his voice that he had done nothing wrong and that the mad girl had actually attacked him. Now she could rest in peace. Justice delayed but not denied. She was gradually slipping...So her end was near...If only she could see that beloved face for once before dying...

PS: I know that all of you must have felt that this part was too painful for words. But it can't be helped, as it is part of my story. But I assure you that next part will be rocking.
