Now, it's Himesh's turn to do Kajra Re

After the success of his Aap Kaa Surroor-The Moviee, The Real Luv Story, Himesh Reshammiya has signed a three-film contract with T-Series.


Karzzzz is the first of these three, a remake directed by Satish Kaushik.

The second is Kajra Re. To be directed by Pooja Bhatt, this movie will be shot in Jordan and will be released early next year.

The third film is A Love Issshtory by Sarfarosh maker John Matthew Matthan. It will be released late next year.

As we all know, Karzzzz is a remake of Subhash Ghai's 1980's hit Karz. Himesh plays the lead role, originally played by Rishi Kapoor. Shweta Kumar, Indra Kumar's daughter is in the Tina Munim role while Urmila Matondkar stars in Simi Garewal's role. 65 percent of the shooting has been completed in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa. The last two schedules of 10 days each will be shot in Mumbai and in Bangkok.

Karzzzz will release in October.

Himesh Reshammiya - I will be working as I always prefer to be work on auspicious days. In any case I don't play Holi. However, I wish everyone a great Holi.

Himesh Reshammiya found a unique way to make his upcoming film, Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke's (Phew!) producer Aditya Singh quit smoking forever. Himesh, who has become a fitness freak after having lost oodles of weight and bagging big budget films, is back in India after a long shooting schedule of Karzzzz in South Africa. As the singer-turned-actor detests smoking, he promised to immediately allot dates for the Paris schedule of Mudh Mudh Ke… on the condition that Aditya immediately quits smoking. Aditya had no option but to immediately give up smoking so that he could get Himesh's dates.

Aditya says, "I had been thinking of quitting smoking for a long time. However, I had failed even after trying to quit smoking a few times earlier. When Himesh and I met up to discuss dates for Mudh Mudh Ke…, he suddenly asked me that he will give me his dates immediately if I quit smoking. It was one of those impulsive conditions from his side and I took it as a challenge and have quit smoking."

Aditya says that he hasn't smoked a cigarette for almost two weeks.

Himesh says, "Yes, Aditya has quit smoking after I asked him to. Now that he is making Mudh Mudh Ke… with me, it is very important for him to be absolutely fit so that he can turn his dreams into reality."

The Karzzzz duo to shoot item song Tandoori Nights in Mumbai


Himesh Reshammiya and Urmila Matondkar recently completed a 40-day outdoor in South Africa and Johannesberg for Satish Kaushik's Karzzzz. They shot for some dramatic scenes on location and the pair will soon shoot an item song called Tandoori Nights.

This one is new

The item song that will soon be filmed on Urmila and Himesh has been sung by Himesh and Sunidhi Chauhan. Himesh says, "It's a situation which Satishji created and the song is called Tandoori Nights."

This song was not part of the original Karz. Urmila is playing the character essayed by Simi Garewal in the original she didn't have a song.

Urmila plays a young as well as an older character in the film and the curiosity factor about her look on the film is big.

Says Himesh, "Urmila's glam look has been styled by Manish Malhotra, and producer Bhushan Kumar had a certain concept in mind and he told Manish what he wanted. It's a blend of elegance and oomph, pastels with shimmer and satin." Himesh's look has been designed by his sister Rupa.

All praise

This is the first time that Himesh will be seen with Urmila on screen and Himesh is full of praise for his co-star, "She's a super professional artiste who is always on time and even after working for so many years in the industry she works for a scene like a newcomer; which is commendable."

Satish Kaushik hospitalized

Satish Kaushik who's currently confined to bed after a surgery plans to ask his new blue-eyed boy, Himesh Reshammiya, to compose a promotional song for Kaushik's teen romance Tere Sang.

"Tere Sang needs a promotional prop. And who better able to provide it than Himesh? Coincidentally, both me and my Tere Sang hero, Ruslaan Mumtaz, are currently confined to bed. He's so accident prone. While we were shooting Tere Sang he fell off the bicycle and had a serious injury. Now he has torn a ligament in his knee while I am recovering from a minor surgery. This is a good time for me to work on the music of our film."

Satish Kaushik who has just returned from 35 days of shooting with Himesh Reshammiya and Urmila Matondkar for Karzzzz in South Africa can't stop praising his two stars. "They're such professionals and so clued in to the technicalities of cinema. I was amazed by Himesh's ability to deliver long dialogues with the right pauses for breath and punctuation. This rhythm in the speech patterns is generally lacking in our film actors. The last time I saw an actor convey the same rhythm in speech was that other singer-actor Kishore Kumar."

As for Urmila, "The last time I worked with her was when I was assisting Shekhar Kapoor for Masoom. She was just a child then. In-between we were supposed to do a full-on masala film called Bus Conductor. But she opted out. Now for Karzzzz, she's so passionately involved."

Himesh and Urmila shoot an item number called 'Tandoori Nights' for Karzzzz

Looking at the jet-speed with which Himesh Reshammiya is signing movies, one just remains stunned! His 'latest' venture is the remake of the eternally evergreen film Karz, which is now respelled as Karzzzz (Hope we have the number of Z's right!), which is being directed by Satish Kaushik.

Himesh must be one man who must be suffering with a lot of jet lag these days as he has just come from a whopping 40-day outdoor in South Africa and Johannesburg! Accompanying him was none other than our very own Urmila Matondkar, his co-star in the film.

After having shot some dramatic scenes abroad, they are in India to shoot for an item song titled 'Tandoori Nights'.

The storyline of the original version of Karz is well known and needs no introduction. But what really needs introduction is the fact that unlike the original, Urmila (who plays the character that was played by Simi Garewal in the original) has an item number titled 'Tandoori Nights' to her credit, sung by none other than her original Mast voice Sunidhi Chauhan along with Himesh himself!

All of the news that's revolving around the movie seems like all the cast of this film belongs to the mutual admiration society. Incidentally, Satish Kaushik, who is in recuperating in hospital, just cannot stop 'singing' praises of the lead pair Himesh-Urmila, whereas Himesh himself is all praise for Urmila.

What remains to be seen is that will the trio of Satish-Himesh-Urmila be able to make the cinegoers indebted to them for giving us Karzzzz. (Hope we have the number of Z's right!)
