Himesh records his career's 75th song

IANS | Monday, 31 March , 2008, 13:58

Himesh has had enough of his status as a one-man music industry. At least for now. He wants to introduce at least one new singer in each one of his forthcoming starrers.

Himesh feels he owes it to the industry. "I think I must give new talent to the music industry because even I was a newcomer once. And fresh untried talent always works since my music usually caters to a younger audience which is always on the look-out for fresh unconventional voices."

For Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke which is a love triangle, Himesh intends to introduce new singing talent for the two leading ladies Niharika Singh and Jennifer Kotwal. "I came across some mind-blowing female voices while I was judging Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. I'll be using these for M2KNDM2K". On Friday, Himesh Reshammiya recorded his 75th song.

"I've already released fifty songs and I intend to use the twenty-five songs that I've in my music bank for the four films Karzzzz, Kajraare, A Love Issshtory and M2KNDM2K that I'm starring in." Himesh intends to introduce four new singers in these four films.

By Our Correspondent 2008 Bollyvista.com

It is a known fact that Himesh Reshammiya has stopped composing music for outside producers for some time after his debut as hero. Reshammiya, who resolved that he would henceforth compose music for himself will break his resolution.

Satish Kaushik is responsible for this move. We all know that Kaushik is directing Reshammiya in Karzzz. Kaushik's daughter is debuting as the heroine in the teenage love story Tere Sang.

Reshammiya will be composing a guest song for the film as a gesture of love towards Kaushik for all the hard work he is doing on Karzzz.

Himesh's mom objects to his Bermuda romance

By Joginder Tuteja, April 1, 2008 - 17:13 IST

It appears that Himesh may finally have to bow done to his mother's wishes and refrain from romancing with his new lady love. Apparently, his mother Mrs. Madhur Reshammiya got a hint about her actor/composer/singer son planning to sneak out to none less than Bermuda and hence isn't too pleased about his escapades.

Well, hold on before the shock gets on the top of you as all this is happening not for the real life but reel life journey of Himesh Reshammiya.

It so happened that a song was being planned to be shot in Bermuda Triangle for Himesh's upcoming film Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke. However, there is uncertainty around whether this would indeed turn out to be the case. Here is the reason why?

"Aditya Narain Singh, who is producing Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke featuring Himesh Reshammiya and newcomers Niharika Singh and Jenifer Kotwal, is having ambitious plans for his film", informs a source from the film's crew.

And what exactly is this ambitious plan? "Though he had finalized some breath taking locales in places as diverse as Paris, Punjab and Delhi, he wanted to do something more for the film. He wasn't content with just these cities and wanted his film to go where no other film would probably have gone before. This is when he thought of shooting a song in the Bermuda Triangle."

So where did the issue lie? After all, it does sound exciting to have Bermuda Triangle becoming a part of a commercial Bollywood flick!

She reveals, "Not many are aware but Bermuda Triangle is known to be an area where not everyone is willing go. There are horror stories about people vanishing in a mysterious manner. Obviously, the moment Himesh's mother got to hear about this, she prohibited Himesh from giving his consent for his visit to the place. More than being superstitious, it is about being extra cautious."

What does Himesh have to say on this? Though Himesh was unavailable for comments, the source did spill the beans. She said, "Himesh is yet to give his nod to shoot there since his mother has strictly warned him not to shoot there; she has made her displeasure quite clear."

How about Aditya Narain Singh? He certainly must not be thrilled considering he has big plans for Seema-Sudhir directed Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke.

"Aditya has been convincing everyone that it's just a myth and to shoot there will not be risky at all. However, it seems that he may have to bow down and shooting would eventually have to happen in Paris. Knowing that Himesh never goes against the wishes of his mother, Aditya doesn't quite have a choice but to abort his plans."

All eyes are now set on Himesh to come out of this tricky situation and take a final call. On one end is an enterprising producer who is willing to go all out to make M2KNDM2K a special film and not leave any stone unturned. In fact, he has even signed Himesh for a whopping price. On the other hand, there is the eternal mother factor which has traditionally been responsible for many a decision!

Now this is one 'triangle' which Himesh wouldn't really have seen coming!

Himesh records his career's 75th song

Composer-singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya, who debuted as a crooner with 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' in 2005, has recorded 75 songs in just a record time.

"I've already released 50 songs. I intend to use the 25 songs I've in my music bank for the four films 'Karzzzz', 'Kajraare', 'A Love Iiisshtory' and 'Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh' that I'm starring in," he said.

Plans to include original songs of Karz scrapped

By Subhash K. Jha, April 2, 2008 - 16:14 IST

It looks like Himesh has decided to forge his individual identity completely separate from all the other singers, actors and singing actors who have come and gaan, A decision has been taken to do away with the entire music score of Subhash Ghai's Karz and substitute it with a swanky new score in Himesh's Karzzzz.

Apparently, the decision to do away with the L-P factor in Himesh's aspirations as an actor comes from the veteran composer Pyarelal's unhappiness over the way his contribution to the music of Om Shanti Om was treated.

Says a hurt and angry Pyarelal, "Though I was initially reluctant, Vishal-Shekhar and Farah Khan were insistent. So I relented. Finally, after all my hard work there was no mention of my contribution in any of the film's promotion and publicity. Not even in any of the credits for the songs in the album's CDs when in fact I had been asked to compose three songs including the theme music for Om Shanti Om."

This experience has definitely soured Pyarelal towards the film industry. "It's an industry I don't understand any more," says Pyarelal sadly.

The decision to keep the chartbusting songs from Subhash Ghai's Karz completely out of Himesh's version of the story decidedly has its echoes in the way one-half of the legendary Laxmikant-Pyarelal has been treated during his comeback. Though Himesh maintains his tightlipped diplomatic stance, the neo-Karzzzz director, Satish Kaushik, is more forthcoming. "We did plan to include some songs from Subhash Ghai's Karz by Laxmikant-Pyarelalji. But then things started changing once we started shooting. The original Karz doesn't have a title song. But Himesh has sung and composed a fabulous title song 'Ishq Mere Tere Karz'. Himesh loves Rafi Saab's 'Dard-e-Dil' and had the situation for our film. But then Himesh created an entirely new track in place of 'Dard-e-Dil'."

Could the fact that the Karz song 'Dard-e-Dil' has already been parodied as 'Dard-e-Disco' in Om Shanti Om have something to do with the decision to do away with the original song situation in the new millennium Karz?

Himesh Reshammiya's father turns composer

By: Upala KBR, Mid-Day

Thursday, April 3 2008

It's all in the family or so Himesh Reshammiya would like to believe. Now the music director-turned singer-turned-actor's father Vipin Reshammiya has composed a song for Himesh's next film Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke.

Says Himesh, "My father was the first person to introduce electronic instruments in India and was a leading musician with Laxmikant-Pyarelal, RD Burman, Shankar-Jaikishen. Above all, dad is the backbone of my success. He will now be composing one of the eight songs that will be part of the film"s soundtrack."

The song Vipin Reshammiya has composed for MMKNDMMK is one that he had composed 30 years ago. Says Himesh, "It's a mind-blowing melody which dad had never used anywhere. Recently, when I heard it I thought it sounded as fresh as ever and wanted to use it for MMKNDMMK."

It's a very contemporary fusion number for the film so I asked dad if I could use the tune for my film and whether he would mind it being orchestrated in a modern manner as the music of MMKNDMMK is young. Dad said that he had introduced electronic instruments in an innovative manner instead of recording it with live musicians. He added that if I was unconventional it was because of his genes.

I was thrilled when I heard this because I am super sure this melody will work for generation next in a big way." Himesh adds that this will be the first time he's going to use someone else"s tune. "I am very proud of it as it's my dad's. He is my guru, my God and I can't do without him."

HIMESH AND THE PERIODIC TABLE
If your name was Nilanjana Sudeshna, for instance, would you pick Jhumpa Lahiri for your new name? Movie titles are a curious phenomenon too. Himesh Reshammiya has a new film which was first called Chemistry, but producer Aditya Singh thought it was too anglicised for their captive audience. Apparently, there was also some concern that Himesh would be unable to create a hip-hop title track (!!!) around the word 'chemistry'. So, after much thought, the film was renamed
Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke, and it was decided that it would go by the dimunitive M2KNDM2K.

Himesh's ready to bare it all

If his singing has got listeners 'swoooooooooning', now hitmaker Himesh Reshammiya plans to do away with his shirt for the first time ever and go topless for his next movie!

Yes, you heard that right. "I want to get six-pack abs," says the singer who is at present busy exercising his abs rather than his vocal cords for a sequence in the swimming pool for his movie Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke.

A daring move, but nonetheless a healthy one, for a little bit of exercise has never harmed anyone, has it? Is he moving from the soundboard to the washboard? Washboard abs, that is!
