Just post noon, everyone came back. samrat and mayank had come back with lalitha and shilpa aunty . uday and dia came and with them came bui much to everyone s surprise. The whole lot sat on some steps outside as lalitha went in with another lawyer that adhirajs dad had called.
Bui came and hugged gunjan with tears threatening to leak out of her eyes. She kissed her forehead and turned to her brother, asking him for details when she caught sight of adhirajs dad sitting alone on the other side. She looked at her brother and back at him questioningly. Bauiji shrugged
"namasthe bhaisaab." Bui
Adhirajs dad looked towards her and then ignored her.
"hello. " shilpa aunty s voice came from behind bauji hesitantly.
Bauji turned , saw her and slightly nodding his head walked away.Bui followed him.Shilpa s face fell but she shrugged mentally and looked around for nupur.
"gunjan, nupur kahaan hain?" mayank asked at the same time
"woh college gayi thi jiju," and looked towards dia and the others.
"college mein tho nahin thi , maine nahin dekha." Benji said while dia and uday shook their heads
Mayank frowned and dialled gunjans mobile which nupur had. It was not reachable.
"don't worry mayank. Shayad woh princi ki class lene gayi hai. last time tumne usko rokliya na." Samrat tried to make him feel better. Everyone smiled.
"maybe we missed each other aur woh college mein hain." dia added
"jiju, lawyers ne kya kahaan?" gunjan asked him
Samrat and mayank explained to the others what Lalitha was trying to do.
Mayank turned and found his mother smiling. He lifted his eyebrows at her and walked to her.
"kya hua?"
"Jiju? Tumhe koi jiju bulaarahi hai?" she said trying not to laugh loud.
"maa, aapko is waqt mazaak soochraha hai? ismein hasne ki kya baat hai? " but smiled back at her.
"teek hain , teek hain. par nupur kahaan hain?"
"shayad college mein hain. par usne mujhe bataya nahin. Main abhi aaya." And shaking his head went back to the gang.
Shilpa sat on the steps and waited for Lalitha to come out. so did bauji and bui but a little away. Adhirajs dad sat alone with his head bent. Suhaani sat quiet next to dia holding gunjans hand scared and lost. Sam, mayank, benji , uday discussed again and again what could happen.
Lalitha came out and said that it looked like they were buying time. Bauji, A's dad and bui went inside.
"mujhe apne lawyer se baat karni hai." A's dad
"agar hum devraj aur yash se yeh kahenge ki hum koi case nahin karenge tho yeh sab aasaaan ho saktha hain." Lalitha added and sighed.
"par jinhone gunjan ke yeh haalat ki usko hum kaise jaane de sakthe hain?" samrat asked angrily.
"samrat rukho, suno tho ki woh keh na kya chahthe hain."
"jo bhi hain mayank kya yeh correct hoga ?"
"haan mayank yeh sirf gunjan ki baat bhi nahin hain. Yeh saare girls ki bat hain."
" dia, " gunjan interrupted," agar adhiraj chootnewaala hain tho shayad mujhe apna case wapas lena chahiye."
"lekin chashmish..."
"nahin gunjan hum kuch aur sochenge, adhiraj ko bhi yeh compromise bilkul pasand nahin aayega. Hastily decide nahin karsakthe." Suhaani added though her face showed how worried she was.
They kept discussing back and forth . Finally the guys with dia decided to talk soem more collegemates as the college seemed to have gone on strike against them. Each of them sat in corners speaking over the phone .
" lagtha nahin ki yahaan hum kuch karsakthe hain . college mein kuch support ki umeed tho hogi. " mayank told Lalitha and mayank thought again," yeh nupur gayi kahaan?" her number was still not reachable.
Meanwhile the elders were trying to get the inspector to let them see adhiraj atleast once. And once more the constable sent them out.
"aap meri beti ko statement dene se rok nahin sakthe."
"lekin aap ek baar tho milne do ." bui was also screaming now .
"nahin. Visiting time tak wait karo. Aur baahar hi baithna." He said and went in.
"aapki beti ki hi galthi hain." Adhirajs dads voice came loud . the two of them had gone inside the station and come out again.
" yeh aap baar baar kya keh rahe ho? ismein gunjan ki kya galthi hain? Usne tho kab se yahin bolke baithi hain ki adhiraj ne usko bachane ki koshish ki thi"
"tho pehle ki complaint mein kya likhwaaya tha? "
"aapki dimaakh mein yeh kyun nahin jaata ki meri beti hi aapke bte ko bachaa sakthi hain."
Suhaani and gunjan exchanged glances. They didn't seem to realise they were on the same side at all. Bauji and A s dad continued arguing. Bui tried to talk between them unsuccessfully.
" aap beech mein mat boliye.." he told bui,"Jab se mere bte ka aapki beti se rishtha jodne ki baat hua hai, tab se uske saath kuch na kuch galat hota jaaraha hain. "
"ismein gunjan ki kya galathi hain?"
"maine uss e kahaan ki wapas aajaaye rishtha thodne ke baad par woh maana hi nahin. Jo aapki beti se usko lagaao hogaya , bas usiki wajah se woh ab yahaan jail mein hain. kitne khushi khushi se phone pe boltha tha ki us se nupur pasand hain.naahin woh aapki beti ki pyaar mein padtha aur naahin yeh din dekhna padtha. Mera bte ko dokhha diya aap sabne milke. Khaaskar aapki beti ne. sab usiki wajah se hain. agar uski..." he went on , his voice reflecting all the pain he was going through.
"lagtha hain adhiraaj ne tumhaare bare mein abhi inko nahin bataya hain." gunjan whispered to suhaani. She nodded.
"STOP. " shilpa s voice rang loud between the two ," bas stop ." the two men turned and stared at her in surprise,
"aap, " she said looking at bauji," aap bhaisaab , kitne baar bolenge ki aapki gunjan ki koi galthi nahin hain? Yeh samajne ki haalat mein nahin hain ,tho chod deejiye."
"madam aapko koi haq nahin.." A's dad began but shilpa turned to him and interrupted him,
"aur aap , mujhe nahin pata ki aap kaun ho. Par lag raha hain ki aap us ladke ka father hain jo abhi jail mein hain. agar usko jail mein hi rakhwaana tha toh yeh sab," pointing to the kids," yahaan subah se baithe nahin hote."
"main unki nahin, inki baat karraha hoon." He replied angrily pointing to bauji," aap shayad jaanithi nahin ki inka aur hamara ..."
"mujhe jaanna bhi nahin hain. aap ek baar us ladki se poochlenge ki hua kya tha toh shayad aapki man ko tasalli ho jaayegi.", she turned to bauji,"aur aap, itna chillane se police maanegi nahin. Tho kyun chilla rahe ho?"
Turning to A's dad again," ek aur baat. Agar aap nupur ke baare me kuch nahin jaanthe tho bolke apna hi insult mat karwaayiye. " she said sternly and walked towards Mayank who hadnt heard the whole dialogue but was busy talking to someone on the phone. he smiled at her questioningly and she gestured him to continue.
"yeh kaun hain?" A's dad asked looking at bui and bauji.
"nupur ki saas." Bui said and taking the opportunity called gunjan over to adhiraj s dad and gunjan told the whole story again repeating about yash being devrajs brother etc., adhiraaj s dad calmed down a little listening to gunjans soft voice and realised he had been believing the newspaper.
" hum ne adhiraj ke khilaaf koi complaint nahin kiya hai uncle. Yeh sab us politician ki saazish hain apne bhai ko bachaane ka. " he nodded and stroked her head, suddenly realising that this girl had lost her ability to walk but was still sitting outside the police station since morning for his son.
"adhiraaj hamara dost hain uncle. Hum sab ka." He walked away followed by bauji.
