I see where you are coming from and can relate to your feelings. The thing is, though, expecting a message from telly shows nowadays is like asking Ekta Kapoor to give us no struggling bahu stories!

Nowadays shows throw sense out the window and seriously we can't do much about it because everyone just wants to be entertained with things that we don't see in our everyday lives. Do supposed Best friends (Gunjan & Samrat) really touch each other as much as these two do? Do students just get locked into rooms by falling asleep? Do peons lock doors without checking who is in the room? Is that called security? Does all this happen in reality....not really!

At the same time, there are certain things that are relatable in shows (this goes for all shows, including ekta shows).

Yes, there are boys around that do try to mix things in the drinks of girls and this is something that everyone should be aware of. MJHT shows that. Yes, there are girls out there, who seriously do believe there is a raj out there. Yes, there are guys out there, who are like Raj and are looking for their true simple Simran. Yes, there are sacrificing girls out there aka Gunjan. Yes, a lot of teenagers do not understand the meaning of love. Yes, a lot of teenagers have their own special, unique ways of expressing love. MJHT shows all this.

I just want to ask a question...why must all things/serials/characters/situations in these shows, well MJHT in particular, need to send a message? Just because young people are watching? Since when did shows and films become an inspiration? It's like saying when the show says jump off the bridge we should all ask ourselves if that is sending us a message to go do that or not?

I understand we all have questions about the messages that this show is sending or not sending...but one question we should ask before all this is...should we be looking for a "message" from entertainment? If so, why?

Hey Anu, I know its been a long time.. how you been? Yes I recall that discussion too, the academic drag and the shirt love bit and Mishra fiasco was the last straw for me in MN's case. Thereafter I stopped seeing sense in this couple, but what to do, kabhi kabhi it hurts when you see the mere reason of watching the show going down the drain. MN as a couple has just been ridiculed plainly in the name of lowe, they were merely given random scenes here and there to please us, but even that has been on the decline.

I see it has just been on the decline since the academic meet, but Anu what else to do with Indian shows, they all end up going the same route sooner or later. The shows are never able to go beyond their 5-6 month expriy date, I am still awaiting a show which will prove me wrong. But I don't see that happening any time soon. Anu we are all in the same boat, why do we watch the nonsense that they serve? We never learn I guess. I just hope it does not go a certain other show's route, I will definetly quit watching then.😆
