Yammy ji....
Ek aur dhaanso post, I don't know what more to add to what you have written out, or what Anu, Roxy and others with
thought provoking ideas have already pointed out.
But here's my two cent:
You've hit bullseye with your post, this show could have covered the ups and downs of being a student, the peer pressure one goes through. The cliched groups that get formed, and how it could have an effect on different people. This could have all been covered together with the
so-called lowe that is shown between the couples. I don't know if you have seen this old show it was called Hip hip hurray, now that was a school/college based show, and it was one of the best youth shows ever. It covered many aspects of being a student, and their educational and personal lives. Remix was sort of inspired from this show.
The progression of MN track is the worst possible route that they have taken, I mean their love is not even love, its mere physical attraction from both the side. Mayank realising that he's in love when he saw her in his shirt, and Nupur realising that she might be falling for the guy, just because he seems to be always there when she needs help and him cornering her every where...and now some shirtless crap that I have been reading. It seems like a disaster waiting to happen...actually it seems that the disaster has already happened.
What happen to the subtleness of love, the gradual build up of love, and especially when it involves two friends??
That is why I would rather prefer to watch SG however cliched they may be, at least their progression is more gradual and it makes sense.
To top it all I would like to add that to a certain level the so called love that is shown in the show, some what gives false hope to the youngster audience. I am not undermining the capability of the younger audiences, but there is a psychological effect that it could have on them, specially when it comes to understanding the actual concept of love. There is a fine line between love, attraction, infatuation and lust. Hence the context in which they show the progression of a love track really matters. So I have a big problem with the way MN have been shown, you can call me old fashioned if you like.
Zainu I absolutely concur with your last point, I liked it when they were trying to build up the relationship of friendship. The other thing is the over the top cheesy and corny dialogues, I mean which 18/19 year old has that much sense to say the nonsense types of things. If the creatives really want to make a programme on this age category, then may be they should have done some research on their behaviour and their college life.
I will like to add to those people who will most likely reply and say that this is just a show, yes we understand this is a show but there are people who like to see some sense shown in a drama. Is it a crime to ask for some sense to be shown??
I don't even know why I watch this show now, they are not even showing my Benji these days..😒.but I guess old habits die hard, and I guess hamain His Royal Highness se kuch jyaada hi lagau ho gaya hai..😆 I just hope that they don't slaughter his character, but it seems to be going that way. They don't even let me a like a character for more than a month, before they decide to kill him/her.
Ok I guess I wrote too much...I hope I made even a slightest of sense..chalo bye. And hope to see you in the CC soon, sorry haven't been active much...a lot going on.
