Marathi Bride Saree Colour

Members here please help me.

Long ago I came to know in Marathi wedding brides wear yellow saree in the initial part of the wedding ceremony and then change into green saree (which is gifted by her in-laws) during mangalsutra ritual.

But in serials marathi brides are shown wearing yellow saree through out the wedding or some other colour other than yellow/green !? 😕 So what I've seen didn't match with what I've heard.

Do each community (like Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya etc.) use different colours for bridal saree? And how many times saree is changed during marathi wedding? Anyone from here please clarify.

Also why the brides's mother is not allowed to see her daughter garlanding? (Mangalashtak)

well usually a bride wears a yellow saree during Mangalashtak which is given to her by her Mama... and yess community wise it might get differ...

in TV shows they try to capture the whole ceremony in couple of ep and mostly only shows mangalshtaka and mangalsutra ceremony so most of brides are in yellow or green...

as for mother not allowed to hear the mangalashta... it's simple earlier girls use to get married at a very young age 8-10 years of age... ... the ashtaka signifies and describe abt new phase of girls new life at her in-laws and advice the new bride abt new phase of her life and this whole process is very difficult emotionally for any mother... so they prefer her not to hear them...

this is based on articles i read and answers i got from many ppl when i question thm abt this ritual...
