Shyamala simply brilliant...I agree with you that sub-inspector acted very well too...he is a veteran actor..but dear I feel charles will turn up again as he too is one of the 7 rakshaks...I also feel Rudra's friend Punnu and his dad have longer roles..and Shyamala like you I too feel Rudra should not get a female lead..Maya told her uncle police choki's address and this is how he called ...😆

The best way to overcome your fear is to face it. Rudra seems to be now ready to face his fear than run away from it, his fear metamorphosing into blind protectiveness and anger.
Going to miss Siddharth a lot. In fact more than the story, it was the boy that pulled me into Mahakumbh. (Why does it happen always??😕). But thankfully Sidharth is given a neat exit and not made to look as though he hasn't slept for 10 days straight and call someone older and horribler than he- 'bachche'😡. Even Sanjeev Kumar inspite of the many older roles he donned was not made to do this. 😭

Anyway coming back to Mahakumbh, the Charles-Rudra bonding was typical filmy yet warm. The same old torn note, twin locket/ chain, etc. Good that the duo didn't pick up a 'Yaadon Ki Baarat'ish song to identify each other when they get old.😆

Sid was so deep, had an aura of mystery and aloofness and insecurity inspite of all his powers. The boy's eyes, agility and controlled expressions were a pleasure to view. All that is over.😭 . Now...😳...let us wait and see. Seeing the huge difference in the super-dive into the Ganges, I have less expectations only.😕

Ditto.😔 Such (non)expressions... 😵 If this insane monotone supposed to be assumed as anger 🤢 continues, I may follow suit.😆

Sid was the star of the show so far and I wonder if there will be flashbacks. Can't watch the show only for maimui, can we? 😆

My dear Shreya,

I am happy that you liked this one so much, and also that you agree with my take on Rudra.

I wrote that whole first section, which had not really been so much on my mind to begin with, solely for yurimehta11, for she had asked me about that. And that section grew and grew to well over a page! Which is why I often say that I have, at the beginning, no idea how the post is going to shape up, and I am always relieved when it comes out reasonably well!😉

I agree with you about Rudra's exit from the police station, but it seems to be a carryover, or residue, of the insensate rage he feels towards that man. Also, it is most often the director's vision more than that of the actor, and if he insists that it be done that way, Gautam might not have had much of a choice. As it is, he is being asked to play this Rudra very close to going berserk almost all the time. Let us see how the character shapes up.

When is Asoka actually beginning telecasts? There is nothing about it in the Sunday papers. If you know anything definite, do let me know/

Shyamala Aunty

@red : I agree. Not much in the actor's hands when the director is in charge of the ship. Good for the show.

@bold : I am not sure Aunty. It was scheduled for 5th January but looks like the makers have postponed the telecast to a later date. The promo only said - "Coming Soon" 😕

Shyamala,
Just read your very interesting analysis of the week gone by and all the reactions.

Well well, while the child Rudra was unanimously a fav, the adult Rudra has invoked a lot of mixed emotions.

That itself means that the the character of Rudra is difficult to interpret and understand, that the reasons behind his actions are yet to unravel!

The 12 year leap was it just a passage of time or are their events yet to be disclosed.

As the saying goes - 'good prose is like a window pane' and this is what your writing is, Shyamala ji. I was a fan of Arshics and OSJ write-ups since SC days and onto MK, you have won my heart.

On your post, while i agree with your analysis on Rudra's character graph and hence his present form, i feel the character portrayal was too aggressive in certain scenes for my liking. IMO, that seething violent looks, teeth gritting has been overdone. Like few others have stated in Arshics thread, i wish the character portrayal is toned down a bit. (I am curious to know, what GR thinks of this portrayal-he is usually practical, sensible with his views).

Your questions/takes are spot on (and witty). I think, Maya is crucial to the plot and is juxtaposed to Rudra's character. From the little we have seen her, i hope the actress can carry the intensity, poise required of Maya.

I am glued to MK plot and applaud the makers here - great package ! I like Utkarsh's writing (he was fabulous in SC) and Gautam Rode (an ardent admirer of him since SC days - I sat through thick and thin of SC, till its last episode).
And do you know, if Utkarsh is also writing the dialogues for MK ? Such deep thinking in those lines.

Look forward to your posts.

Coming to the episode,as you said, there must have been lot that happened in those 12 years which have made Rudra this way. He must have become the product of the circumstances which he would have gone through during those years that were Not shown to us. So if he is gritting his teeth with anger underlining every line of his face,it must be the result of the same..And I agree Aunty,I do not understand Maya's sudden inclusion either 😕 Waiting to see how that pans out..

Gautam,I feel is doing what is required out of him.. If he is acting in a certain way,it is because he has been told to do so again I will wait to see some flashbacks or something of that kind to explain the changes that have occurred in the recent past..

Your takes on Udiya baba's funeral,Mai mui and Rudra's scenes, about Charles, the exemplary fight sequences, everything was bang on. As I said before,it is a pleasure to read your posts 😊 Thank you so much for the PM 🤗
