And Gandhari's sons were born through invitro fertilization. Yes, this concept was that old.
And yes, Kunti suffered a lot in her life. I don't know y some people overlook Kunti's pain, just bcoz she made one mistake of abandoning her child.
She lost her husband, at a young age, had to take care of 5 children alone, one of whom was the potential heir to the throne, had the burden of abandoning a child in her heart...
Her life was indeed full of pain. However, she was not as innocent as she has been shown in this serial. She was a very shrewd woman in the epic.
However, I feel Draupadi suffered more.
Even if she wasn't disrobed, she was staked and dragged by her hair for sure, in a single piece of stained cloth, while she was in her season. Being assaulted like this, by her brother-in-law...It was just horrible.
And Draupadi too got no peace from her husbands, as all of them married many times, which is not shown in the serial, one staked her, and the others watched her getting disrobed silently. Even later when she was molested by Keechak, Yudisthir said "Endure it." Keechak kicked Draupadi in front of Yudisthir, and Yudisthir was like "Bear it. We have to maintain our anonymity."
All this has not been shown in this serial to whitewash the Pandavas. Only Bhima saved her in the epic. Arjun was not even aware of her plight.
And Draupadi lost ALL her children.
So, Kunti did have a very difficult life, but Draupadi's life was far worse, in my opinion.
