i don't blame her for calling him sinful she had her reasons to think him to be sinful but what mine and diala's point was when she went to karna she wasn't concerned about his life but the life of her 5 son's only and then she emotionally blackmailed him by saying i am your mother its your duty to do what is agreeable to me so that he doesn't harm her sons'

again please understand i am not blaming her for this a mother would do anything to save her children even greatest mother's in the world become selfish when it comes to her own children i know if some day i become a mother i would do anything to save them as well.So as pandavs mother i dont blame her at all

but as karna's mother the emotional blackmail she did to him was unfair to him

Haha, you're really not getting my point :D

may be becuase in your current point you have clearly written she wanted to protect pandavas to protect dharma hence went karna or you are still trying to say that she went to karna to protect him as well.

Or are you trying to say she wanted to emotionally weaken him so that he joins pandavas and is protected as well

Oh but she is! Yes she was afraid for her five sons because she feared they'd be gravely injured by the three great warriors on Duryodhan's side. She calls him sinful, meaning she knew he was not following the righteous path, as a mother she did have doubts in her mind, but do you really think she didn't have a hunch he was going to die if he were to fight for the Kauravas?

If she didn't care, why did she clutch onto his corpse and cry her eyes out after his death? Why THEN, did she reveal to her sons who Karna really was? She should have kept her mouth shut then too if she didn't give a damn about her first born, right?

@red.. No she dint.. All duties to a corpse were done before she revealed.. She wanted the water rites to be done.. Why she revealed, may be she knew what a sinner she is only then..

About son being sinful, why did she approach a sinful son for her other sons? just because he was holding him in her womb for 9 months? I dont see a mother but a selfish woman..

She thinks about her sinful son. A son who, by serving Duryodhan was following Adharma. I'm saying, didn't she know justice would be prevailed. Everybody knows that. Do you think that somewhere deep down she couldn't have known that because Karna committed certain sins in his life, he'd be punished for them? Why are we unable to read between the lines, her desperation to save, not just her sons, but Dharma in general is what I can see in that paragraph. And if Karna were to see that, he could have been saved as well. But he was bound by a word he gave his friend and he considered that his dharma. Her thoughts were audible, but her intentions weren't, which is why we tend to get confused. Look, I'm not a fan of what she did to Karna, but some of her actions are justified.

Why do you bring Dharma in now? It is not gonna help if you argue on your assumption that she wanted Karna to be saved when the citations clearly prove otherwise..

It was not for his good.. it is clear.. if you dont care about citations, please carry on.. please dont question my opinion which is based on citations..

I bring in dharma because her thoughts reflect it!

@...Diala.. Now that you've provided us with a citation, we've read it and we've understood it based on our capacities. You haven't understood what I've written and you probably won't either. So I think any further arguments will become baseless because there will never be any outcome. We clearly don't have common perspectives and I respect yours but I cannot accept it. It will be sensible if we just end it here.

well if she is thinking about dharma then why does she want to bring her sinful adharmi son under dharam's protection wont she want her sinful adharmi son do die for dharma's protection

one cant have it both ways say she is doing this for dharma yet wants to protect her adharmi son

Thank you, for making my job easy. THIS is where the mother in her towards Karna comes into picture. You understood it this way, Kunti wanted to have her son killed because he was an adharmi and she was wishing to save dharma. I'm saying Kunti wanted her adharmi son to take dharma's side for once and probably save his skin by NOT following adharma.
