I clarified it in my post.. I said she wanted war with no actual intention to bring Karna to her side which means she was not bothered about his death only of the other 5...

That cannot be true, your citation states very clearly that she wanted to draw his heart towards the Pandavas. Why should it not be interpreted like this? Kunti knew Karna was a strong warrior, as a last minute resort and as a hope for ALL her sons, she asked him to think of his brothers, hoping he'd probably join them and leave Duryodhan's side. Words need not be said out aloud to understand what this mother wanted from her abandoned child. Yes, it was a callous act on her behalf to have asked for is help in such an untimely manner, but that need not mean she didn't worry about his death!

words need not be aloud.. these are her thoughts.. where does she think she has to save Karna.. where does she think of his benefit?

why should he not obey my words that are certainly acceptable and beneficial to his brothers?

Oh but she is! Yes she was afraid for her five sons because she feared they'd be gravely injured by the three great warriors on Duryodhan's side. She calls him sinful, meaning she knew he was not following the righteous path, as a mother she did have doubts in her mind, but do you really think she didn't have a hunch he was going to die if he were to fight for the Kauravas?

If she didn't care, why did she clutch onto his corpse and cry her eyes out after his death? Why THEN, did she reveal to her sons who Karna really was? She should have kept her mouth shut then too if she didn't give a damn about her first born, right?

if karna was juz the son of adhirath!! (no kunti thing here) with a talent with dhanush!!

he will only be know as a guy with talent!!!!
he is know as a warrior with blood of the god but was insulted and suffered a lot!! that made him great because he came out from all of it!! thats his greatness!!
Karna is wat he is because of this Kunti's so called mistake!!!

agreed but that doesn't excuse kunti

panchali is considered great because of mistakes of other's.Other's created horrible situation for her out of which she emerged like a victorious hero but that doesn't excuse 'others' of their crime

And Kunti wasn't 'excused' either. She faced the most horrible consequences.

Kunti kept them, away from their own brother..made them fight against him..she earned the lifeterm sin of Bhatruhatya for Arjun...Isn't it a mistake!!!!
and ofcourse your question is ambiguous .By the term "SO CALLED MISTAKE" You can refer to any one of the mistakes she did in her life, and its not clear whether we have to vote for her as a mother or as a person...

i agree with archana here although i still think she was good mother of pandavas but still she wronged them by not telling them the truth about karna or else why would yudi dharma raj himself curse woman kind because of her

certainly yudi was very hurt because of kunti's mistake he even says after the war that out of all the deaths even of his own sons it is karna's death that hurt him the most
