Yeah you are trying logic against fangirls. Good luck with that. I suspect a large number on this forum are young teen girls. Their brains are still developing and hormones racing through their bodies. I just don't worry about their opinions. I've said pretty stupid things when I was young too. I actually loved RK and Madhu's hate chemistry and I was just waiting for a proper redemption arc that never materialized. The writers just lost their way and I believe the marriage of RK and Madhu is backtracking and giving fangirls what they want. Personally I don't think India is yet ready for a truly dark character. Cannot see some one like Walter White happening in India anytime soon. He is awful and there is no glorifying his crimes. i believe in the last season he will die and I'll be satisfied with that. Also, the production houses are worried about TRPs so story-lines just don't make sense. Indian audiences just need to mature and hopefully a larger variety of storytelling will be shown.
Yeah, amen to that. I would actually love to see some shows with proper storylines that do not just revolve around the supposed love-story and the boy and girl actually have some work to do a apart from floating on clouds and dying from heart-breaks.
As for being stupid as teenagers- well, I swallowed my share of Mills& Boons in my time too, but somewhere along the line I could register the sexism going on. Also, I wasn't exposed to much TV. Plus, I think we used to have a little more variety earlier, and now we only have the same same kind of brainwashing going on on every channel and every show- How to be an all-tolerant, glycerine-shedding, eternally forgiving ideal Bharatiya Nari. Seriously, every female protagonist is like that. If you deviate, you are either the vamp or her ally. It worries me.
