great post dear but it is pointless writing it here!!!! Ppl are now jumping with joy now that they have the opportunity to pounce Madhu because she finally did one thing to RK after all the things he did to her!

Your post is so eloquent and right on the mark.

I too started to watch this show mainly DD/MB. I had problems with R.K.'s character from the start.

I stuck with it hoping to see the journey that MB will take and after many twists it has come to be that MB will show her true grit and deal with R.K. the way a strong woman of today would deal with obnoxious and arrogant men like him
.
I hope CV's stick to their plan and show that a woman can make a mistake and fall in love with the wrong man but does not need to give up her self-respect or self-esteem and go back to him after what he put her through.

There was this scene where a director sidled up to RK after he declared Madhu was his spot, and said: "Wow, sir, kya sabak sikhayi. You showed her her true place."
I was like, this guy makes films?
Then RK responded- "woh jaise bhi hai RK ka property hai!"
I cringed. This is the summary of all his defending Madhu- kynki she is RK's property.

Thanks!!! 😳

Totally agreed!!! Those scenes evoked the same response in me!!! What kind of persons are there in the film world, I wondered?!!! 🤓

And Yes, this show is insulting the image of superstars, by depicting them as arrogant people who disrupt shoot according to their mood swings.! 😲

I gave reasons for whatever I said. If you think it is unjustified why don't you oppose my points with reasons? Or you were given the choice of not reading my post, weren't you?
And I think I will decide for myself whether I am a VD fan or not, thank you very much. The important point is I know the difference between RK the character and VD the actor.
Let me give you a few examples:
I may think Amjad Khan a great actor- but I am not a fan of Gabbar Singh the character.
I may like the way Amrish Puri plays Mogambo, but I don't think Mogambo was such a nice guy.
I totally heart the actors Alan Rickman, Jason Isaacs and Ralph Fiennes, but I hate the characters of Snape, Malfoy and Voldemort.
I'll give you a last example- although I have a feeling I am wasting my time- in the black and white era, two of the leading heroes in Bengali Cinema were Uttam Kumar and Soumitra Chatterjee. I like the films of both, but perhaps I have a preference for SoumitraC. However, they did a film together called Jhinder Bandi (The Prisoner of Jhind) in which UK was the postive character and SC was an outright villain. Villain with an amazing attitude and screen presence, but he did things that were wrong- and when I watched the film I did not support his character.
So, let me try one more time: I have liked VD the actor since Kasam Se, and I think he is acting brilliant in MB, but I don't like the character of RK, for which I have given reasons, which you have not countered.
As for Madhu being the cheapest, frankly, RK brought this upon himself by forcing her against her will to come back to his life. It's not like Madhu planned to do all this all along, but RK did not leave her alone and now he is going to reap what he sowed.
Also,my post was about how everybody excuses RK because he is supposed to be different, and I pointed out that he is not in fact so different.

Amazing post. You said it all. This post echoes my thoughts. I never thought this show or it's characters, especially RK, was in any way different or unique. Except maybe Madhu's. I have seen a ton of "Rich spoiled brats with grey shades" in may Indian shows before, just with a different profession. And this show is everything that a typical saas-bahu show has. We were promised a show that covers the aspect of Bollywood and the Glamor World, but instead what we got was the cliched rich boy meets middle class girl, they hate each other, the guy marries the girl forcefully, they fall each other and BAM it turns into another typical Indian show.

I will not get into the whole debate of RK bein illogically justified 24x7 for his actions because you and me both know that those who are wearing a blindfold will not take it off. I especially appreciate the point you raised with Mukund. That is SO true. Too bad things still haven't changed and the same is happening with Sultan now.

This forum is not owned by one fan group only. This is an open forum and no one has the right to patent it with their names and conveniently kick everybody out for having a different opinion. I am sick and appalled by the hypocrisy and double standards of the people here!

@bold- Yes, exactly. And they claim this show is not a saas-bahoo show like BV, this is hatke, this is mature, this is amazing...But in fact, take away his profession and RK could be Maan or ASR or Pratham Mittal- except that none of these people has been as abusive as RK has been, although, sometimes they went quite close.

If I criticize RK then I'm not allowed to be a VD fan, yet they will claim they like RK not VD. Why can't they make up their minds?

Yes, they made very entertaining villains, they had great dialogues, great presence, great personalities, but note the use of the word "villain". You don't support their actions. You don't want a Gabbar or a Mogambo to win.

Ok...Am BACK!! 😈.
Disturbed by rk's characterization???? You don't say!! Clean your mouth out with ...chanting of "rishbala forever". Has the numbers chanting dropped after yesterday's episode I wonder...if it has, it would be because madhu is to blame no doubt!! Or is it extra twistedly schizoid and madhu is getting a bashing but...its still "rishbala for ever"???

You have pointed out incidents in this show that I didn't even know about because I haven't watch this show from the beginning. You ask ...how is this show different. I'll tell you how.

Correct me if Im wrong but its showing a level of emotional and pyschological abuse that exceeds what has been shown in the past. Not only that but for eg in IPKKND, the "hero" abused the "heroine" but he was shown to have empathy, love and loving attachment to all members of his family esp his sister. He was also shown to have remorse for when he lashed out and cause emotional or physical hurt to the heroine. I am NOT saying that a man doing this is ok. But I am saying that this is the first time they are showing a psychopath. rk does not have the ability to see how others see him...look at thursday's episode...EVERYTHING he accused dips of, applies to him. But can he see it? NO.

So..ppl can see dips as doing wrong but not rk. Why? Ohhh I'm asking the same question as you!! Well whatever the answer is...it sure has NOTHING to do with the portrayal of love and women on indian tv!! The hero is the hero...doesn't matter WHAT he does or doesn't do. The heroine has to be PURE as driven snow and if her love is pure she will change the the hero for the better! 🤢 BRAINWASHING comes to mind anyone??? And if its from DAILY indian soaps then DAILY brainwashing since CHILDHOOD?

You ask how this show is different.

This show is different if they have the guts to follow through on what they've been showing so far.

I've said this a few times this week here. People complain about the abuse shown and how the couple has been ruined for them. For me it's the opposite. I'm glad this has finally been shown for what it always was. I hate these jackass love stories where the guy treats the girl like dirt. I had no hope for this show either. All I saw was that Mukund the nice guy would eventually be screwed over and the RK-Madhubala love story would begin and people would root for it and go ga-ga over it. Despite the fact that the way he supposedly married her was outright APPALLING.

So for the creatives to show this so called love story which started out in a demeaning manner in the first place, playing along with the ridiculous, false romantic notions that that seem to be popular in serials, and then shattering it--that is no small thing, and deserves some credit.

If they keep up with it, then that's how this show is different. If they continue on showing this for what it is, and they don't end up showing RK-Madhu as some true love story.

People will take offense at my post, most likely. I've never posted my feelings outright like this other than privately to some friends. But your post just made me say this.

BANG ON REPLY!! If the have to GUTS to follow through and NOT show at the end of the serial that rk changes and rishala happy ever after...coz girls/women are brainwashed enough without re-enforcing the toxic notion that the abuser CHANGES for the better.

YOU have reflected what I said in the very my very post on this forum
