It is hard to analyze anything without considering all the spoilers. I would have pegged today's episode as an average episode leading upto pheras and the couple waiting to start thier new life formally with proper saat pheras. TRP aunties would have gone crazy for RK's self-control. I would have interepreted RK's silence as his egoistic attitude and Madhu's perkiness as her happiness.
However with the spoiler of revenge plot looming large- RK's silence seemed like his guilt or an attempt to avoid lying by omission. Madhu's perkiness felt childlike innocence soon to be crushed under the wheels of reality.Revenge plot still does not make sense- one would have to be a sociopath to create that level of havoc for four slaps. Given the fact that RK has never really physically hurt Madhu, cared for her when she was sick, cared for her family, skipped any physical intimacy- I find it hard to label him a sociopath. He seems to have some deep ingrained humanity for most part. At the very least RK's character does not seem unredeemable- he seems to avoid confessing that he loves her...in fact except for once in farm house, he has never stated that he loved Madhu. He has mentioned that he loves her company immensely and cares for her which may be completely true.
I must admit none of the cliched route of self sacrifice (RK has a life threatening disease) makes sense at this point. The choice is not -no marraige and marraige but ambiguous marraige and complete marraige. Socially she is already his wife (as printed in news)...if self secrifice is the intention ...one would expect RK to strengthen her position and finances by completing the marraige.
